Shreyas, Mysore. My RD pics.

Post by live4rd »

Hello everyone..been a real long time member learning from RDD..haven't posted much..bought my dream bike after a 4 year long wait an thought i'd post up now..
its an '86 LT. Sleeved recently. running on ART. beautiful undented silencer pipes..got a spare tank, side shields, a mask..hoping to get help frm RDD to build it better..thank you all in advance..for now, gonna take the stickers off..KN filters too..looking at buying UNIs..took the mask off.. too many people fiddling with it  so thought was best to put it inside..
@sunmysore, thanks loads for checking my bike out..its a relief to know the weld on the front disc mount is ok and that it will hold well.. :)

Wow RD's are getting nice treatment day by day, BTW details about front disc break components as the welding part is quite neat and quite difficult to make it out whether its welded or original ones atleast in shown pics.

thank you guys for all your responses. RD's been my dream bike for more than i can remember. waited for 4 long years without getting any other bike just to get an RD. lovely bike. i'm lucky to have have found such a beautiful bike.
@ramchand - selling the rear tire. looking at buying 3.5 CEAT or MRF. but i think CEAT has stopped making 3.5s. friends are suggesting Michelin. need your advice please. the present tire seems like a tractor at slow speeds. slides a little too on smooth roads.
@ajaybiz- whole disc setup is from the Avenger. the caliper mount is welded on to the forks an a metal paste an paint job done. was worried if the weld wil hold under hard braking. had sunmysore have a look at it yest. glad that he was happy with the job an assured me its good. wil post pics of the setup.

Finally you posted :P

@Ajay : That part of fork leg where caliper is mounted, was actually cut from a fork leg and welded onto the RD leg. The piece was about 6 inches, So i guess thats 12 inches of welding. Pretty strong i believe. Tried some hard braking, I must admit its got pretty stopping power.

Dont get ceats man, get some new age tyres like the MRF zappers or Michelin M45s :P

Bought new Avenger fork leg and did the cut weld job or got it from Gujri as fork legs are quite costly, Hows breaking compared Karizma setup as many times i felt the setup used in HH bikes performs better than Pulsar ones specially if they are complete Nissin sets.

Not necessarilyAvenger, any fork leg with matching mounting bolts. I think the one shreyas has is from a Pulsar.

Fork legs from gujri costly? Look for a completely beatenup fork. Can get leg for ~200-300.

HH bike brakes IMHO suck. Rode a new karizma yesterday, brakes weaker than my 260mm setup. Brakes on my previous CBZ weren't too good either. Nowadays I'm hearing that brake pads cost 1.5K :O

thank you all for the sweet responses an warm welcome. :)

@kapil : hehe.. Bike is white. :) The extra tank an side shields i'm getting are red though.

@crazydiablo : Front an rear tyres, both IRC. front tyre grip is really good. not happy with the rear one. so changing to MRF or Michelin as adviced.

@ajay : got pics of the front disc caliper mount. this might help you.

@james : thank you so much :)
small issue with the left pipe though. i felt the lever for pulling out the side stand is a little too close to the pipe. everytime i pull the stand out to park, my footwear's sole rubs against the pipe. i know its too small a thing to worry about but it hurts to think of it all the time. wil post pics of it.
