sir coolhead....i like it!

keep the dream alive.i still have that bottom half ron! and i still need a CDI. wink wink!

i'll strip it down to bare case and see how much it weighs and the exact dimentions. do you need anything else with the bottom end? gears, cyl's, shift forks ect. before i weigh it?

Dont know man. I have a LC bottom end and gear box am hoping I can use the internals from there.
But its clutch uses the shift rod and the RZ has a diffirent clutch setup.
Think I can get away with the cases and the clutch mechanism. Or I could take some pictures.

Cranky any free space for an engine half on the way back
Or maybe split it up into 3 pkgs and get them across one by one.
First cases. Second clutch. Third gearbox.

WHats the best top speed youve touched on her. Where do you race her.
Now I remember you asked about the CDI and I had said come join the forum.

You wanted a simple non programeable one right ?
Ill do an exposed chip for ya. So you can try out diffirent curves.
It will be a dito copy of the tried and test Aircooled circuit except designed to work with RZ pulsar.
Il start work as soon as I clear the pending CDI orders.

well i use to race the bike at willow springs. the last time it was clocked @ 148mph. plenty fast for me. it was fun blasting past a zx7 down the strait. i only ride it on the street now, but plan on some track days in the near future. just a heads up, the 79 rd frame has the engine moved forward in the chassi, the rear has been raised 24mm, the front forks are as low as they can be without the fork tubes hitting the clamp. this gives the bike great stability and xlnt cornering. much better than any rz or rd. with the front cog @17t and rear @37 the bike doesn't really get into the power till about 30mph, then it's wheelie time.

ron, i was looking for a CDI for my new project. it's just a 74 rd350. i'm sure anything you have is better than the old set up. i'd really like to help out with your project once you figure out everything you need to get er done.shipping cost is a *beep*. have you located a mate that can pack it with him on a return trip?

i'm in the process of removing x-tra weight, figuring out how to mount the front caliper to work with the giant ducati 330mm rotor i will be using. just for your information, ducati/fzr1000 330mm rotors use the same bolt patern as the rd's. but i'm just not interested in putting that pathetic electrical system on the bike. i clearly remember all the problems associated with it. and if it wasn't for your system, i would never even think about bringing an air cooled bike back to life.

145 MPH
And you managed that with a crappy stock cdi and curve. Imagine what she will do with a matched curve.

Im only intrested in CDI Curves, Pipe and porting design.
The complete reason for breaking my neck with this buils is there a CBR 600 F3 that needs it butt tosted. And Im going to build the bike to do the toasting.

Chk out the custom Race Bikes guys have built using my Kit. Esp. Brians RD400 the blue one with DG heads.
