Intro New Member

Post by Dimali »

Hello everyone. I have been long fascinated by the legendary RD 350 though I've never owned one. My previous bike have all been Bullets for which I have a lot of affection for. I'm currently looking at acquiring a RD350 for a Cafe Racer conversion for which I think the RD is a perfect candidate, never mind the fact that the genre has its roots in old Brit iron! I am looking to upgrade my knowledge on RDs so I will be able to work on the bike myself. I am based in Mumbai and any leads to sound RD mechanics will be most welcome. BTW does anyone know how many RDs are running on Indian roads?

Hey! VSDoc sounds like a particularly nasty internet virus.

Apart from the cachet of owning a truly legendary street bike like the RD 350, all I am saying is it is far more rewarding experience to be able to understand the working of your bike, RD or any other, and therefore being able to logically deduce/prevent problems or to upgrade performance or whatever gets you going. Unless you are the kind of biker that goes to the mech for a oil change :)

As far as customising the look of your bike, it's a personal preference.

If you are alluding to my "affection for Bullets", let me say it is a damn fine bike as long as you understand and respect it's quirks and tolerances. Personally, I would love to have a relaxed, thumper of a Bullet as well as a zippy, performance oriented RD in my garage!

What say? And what is VSDOC's provenance?
