Upgraded to the RDD ECU for the RD350

Post by akshaypawar »

Words cannot express what / how my RD feels on the RDD set-up. I have been trying to write this feedback for about a month and even if you give me another year, I may not be able to put everything in words that can do justice for this product.

I've been riding the RD for more than a decade now and moved to CDI about 5 years ago. At that point I noticed a dip in performance but always dismissed it to the conversion and thought I could not do anything about it. I wanted to move to the Digital CDI from RDD for the past couple of years but had to put off the purchase for one or the other reason. Until recently, when I picked up the RDD ECU and had it installed onto my RD.

From the very first time the bike started on the RDD set-up, if was evident that there is a change. The exhaust tone / growl is distint and very noticable. My first ride got me thinking how fast the bike is. I had prepped myself up by reading thru the RDD webiste but all the reading can never prepare you for this. This is taking it to a whole new level. The bike is responding to every flick of the wrist and is demanding more. The wide powerband in each gear leaves you pondering how much more can it take??? I've had multiple short rides within the city and a one long ride to Nandi. The bike is pure performance. The drop in performance that I noticed when I converted to CDI has miracelously disappeared. In fact I feel it is performing much better than the original points set-up. Needless to say I'm more than happy about my decision to buy the RDD ECU. This is by far the best product that I have seen for an RD and the best decision that I have taken. My only regret is on postponing the buy. Well better late than never.

I would like to thank Ron for the wonderful product and also like to thank Ajay, Mohit & Vijay for pushing me to get the ECU. I would also like to thank Asgar for installing the kit onto the bike.

Awesome! Enjoy the bike Akshay. Make sure you use R type plugs or keep some good quality 5K plug caps around as spares. The voltages from the HT coil are much stronger now.

Thanks for the feedback. People told me there is no way I could sell this kit for more than 1-2 years. Yet here we are 2013 and people are still discovering the magic.
In case your wondering how much power you have picked up its about 5 BHP.
You can pickup even more if you change the filter and jets.

Enjoy your RD. Can you hear it singing ?. Do you now get the whole constipated vs non constipated thing we keep talking about ?.
