RDD CDI- RD and RX

Post by Jagadeesh »

I have been using RDD CDI on all my RXs[2] and RDs[4] for a long time now and think its time to post an feedback.

The RD CDI was definetly the best thing that happened to all my bike. The bike felt much smoother, revs more freely and definetly has more mid range grunt that it did before.
Honestly i have never driven my current RD with points because the CDI was installed when i was getting the bike rebuilt.

But the reason i can vouch for RDD CDI is because when we were going to install the CDI on my 3rd RD. On the way to the mech i was racing with Ankz's black RD and he was leading me by atleast 5 bike lengths. Then we go to the mech and get the CDI installed, Change the tires and start racing again on the way back to my place.

And Whoa!! i can not only feel the bike much better but i was actually ahead of Ankzs bike =D> .
Now i am not so good at the tech stuff. But lets just say its common sense as to how a bike suddenly starts feeling better and goes fast in a span of few hours.
All i changed in the bike was the CDI and tires and i am sure that new tyres dont make u go fast
Like i said i am not good at the tech stuff but for me its plain simple "RDD CDI will make a difference to your bike"

Yeah there are other bike running on different CDIs or Points that can still beat my bike. But thats only because of the rest of my bike not being in good shape.

Thanks for the Kind words.
All I can say is try and educate the other RD owners in your City.

Sales are not good because in India a good product gets burried under politics, unfair competition, and so many scams going on.

The only hope for RDD and the future of the kit is spreading word about the kit amongst other RD owners.
Most guys think that the feedback section is made up of posts I sit and write.

The only real way to show apprication is to spread the word with other owners.
And show them what a difference it makes.

I am already helping those who ask with the RX CDI installs recent one being that of malcom. I can help with the RD CDI installs also but the only problem is i dont have the adapter that is used to put in the dial guage in the plug hole.
Already bought the timing gun, dial guage. Desperatly searching for the adapter for dial guage.

You can take a old spark plug and break it to fashion an adapter or you can machine up an adaptor in a few minutes. I hae personally never bothered with one.
I rest the dial gauge against a fin. Take a reading. Re-check it by rotating back to zero. If it comes to the same spot 2-3 times Its accurate.

You also get something called Plug adapters. which screw into the spark plug hole they cost like 40-50 bucks. Let me take a pic.

Here you go crazydiablo.
My first Rd.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/ ... n/jag6.jpg

Got it for 20k back in 2004 and sold it back in a month to the same mech for 16k thts after spending close to 5k with him trying to get it fixxed. Got conned big time  No idea where it is now.

My second Rd the silver one. the one in the background was my 3rd that later got modified[ pics below]

This one was a beast got it for 35k and spend a lot on it to get it this shape. It was rebuilt by tectrac in chennai and had Auto escorts CDI on it. It was a nice bike to ride and was extremly smooth and reliable. Sold it to a close friend of mine Shiva who then sold it to Jatinganapathy on RDD. Jatin then told me one of his friends bought it from him.

My 3rd Rd.
before modification

after the mods

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/ ... ure015.jpg

this has been modified quite a bit by my mech and had RDD CDI on it and is the same bike i mentioned about in my above post on feedback about RDD CDI. Sold it to a guy in xbhp for 80k along with US Spec cylinders as spare. The bike was on sleeved LT barrels.
The guy who bought it gave me the sleeved as well as the US spec barrles in exchange for a set of 3rd OS LT barrels.
The same US spec barrels went onto my second bike that was later sold to Jatin.
I call this XBHP guy after a few months and heard that the bike has been parked as he met with an accident on it and was bed ridden for 2 months. went and saw the bike and bought it back from him for 50k as is. the bike had to be completly rebuilt cosmetically but the engine was perfect.

Now the bike is with my close friend Venkat and looks like this.

Now my 4th RD. Will never sell this one. 3Rd OS HT, Nice stock looking bike with RDD CDI, UNIs.

Coming to the RX. Got this RX 5spd from Ravi [ pune] has RDD CDI and Chinoy Filter on it. other wise the bike was completly stock. now sold to Torque.

And atlast my RXZ. Completly stock done some 12k KMs when i bought it. was standing for a long time at a friends friends place. loved it the moment i saw it. Installed RDD CDI and new brake pads on it.

Also have a shogun. no pics though. my boss gave it to me for free as he was not using it.
Also have a kinetic thats used for going to the market and so on.
Got my uncles IND Suzuki that again was not being used for last 9 years. was even on OEM tyres. got it changed the tyres and got it serviced. new battery. now with a friend who uses it to office daily.

YEah also had a P150 and then a P180
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v237/ ... 003050.jpg

Also had one more RD for only 3days so cant actully say i owned it before my friend imran got it from me. This bike was also sold to and is with Jatin now.
