Still fouling a bit with the kickstarter but sitting nicely now.
And... umm...
THEY'RE FUCKING WICKED!

First time didn't have the guts to open her up in first, so took her to third and gassed it. It's like having a turbo bolted on and suddenly things get blurry LOL...
Then did the same in second, got a fiercer kick, but noticed that she burbles and the power plateaus (does not stone-wall though, like those silly Shakeel pipes)... the rpms rise but the increase in power is not that drastic, after the first kick.
So I guess I need to start by advancing the ignition a bit...
She's running around 12 to 14 degrees timing, and Ron's 250 size jets (which on visual inspection seem bigger than Mikuni 280s).
How will I know when to stop advancing?
And once I reach a point where I am happy with the timing, should I attempt to down-jet?
I don't think the pipes are working ANYWHERE close to their true potential, but the kick is still fierce enough to lift the front in first gear.
And they are LOUD. As a temporary measure, they're stuffed with jute. Will stuff them with glasswool as soon as I get my hands on some. I hope that'll tone down the PRAP-PRAP a bit.
