since i have owned this bike frm last 5-6 years it has always loved me back one way or other ,, leaking seals ,, gear missing ,, clutch issues ,, jetting
well all got sorted sooner or later
got the rdd cdi 2 i think 3 yrs back
have run flawlessly till now ,, well i dont run it much ,, i think havnt driven more than 3000kms till now

but recently big trouble mr. chinoy ,, something i cant confirm or rectify locally

the bike runs very nice or as i say normal for 30-40 minutes then suddenly loses spark ,, checked all wires ,, soldered and heat shrink done on all i thought cud come loose ,,
but anyways cdi has just the switch in btwn ,, so not many wires ,, just the switch and kill switch btwn the battery and cdi and then coils and spark plugs so nuthing much to luk at

it starts again after 40-60 minutes ,, but until then no spark ,, have happened 4-5 times and now i dont ride it ,, cause i dont like sitting on bike for that much time and people passing by saying the bike went kaput
i got it checked from local electrician i trust ,, he has fair knowledge abt cdi ,, he made one for myfrnds rd350 which went with us to marsimik la and khardungla without any trouble other than one shot coil ,,
he says wiring is ok ,, the voltage on battery is ok showing 13+ volts at idle and 14 volts and 2500 rpm

as he says some solder in cdi has gone dry or capacitor heats up and then runs ok after it cools down after shutting down

let me know wat else to check ,, i dont have analogue cdi ,, pls i wud like to buy one if its still in production and let me know what to do ?

mutimeter will show u if ur source coil has gone kaput . bike runs well and then suddenly shuts off .. seems like a loose connection right ? just my .00000000000001 paisa .

@chinoy ,, the box is under the tank in the small metal clamp there covered with rubber band from all sides and a soft cotton cloth covering it ,,
so i wil have to buy new cdi
no warranty then ?

i will check it but i need the process and readings which i have to confirm on source coil ??
and besides i checked all loose connections ,, there isnt much to check ,, battery ,, switch and then cdi ,, nuthing else related to cdi working !!!

wat abt claims of life long support and all i am asking is little help thats wat i think this forum is made for
let me know u intend on keeping ur word ,,
i am in punjab ,, trusted ur word and went for it without driving even a single bike with it ,, i didnt even register on ur site till after 1 yr of usage
atleast have the decency to be polite abt ur plans and not supporting ur own product
i will go with scooty pep or any other cdi thats my prob ,,
till now i think i am the only user in ludhiana i am sure ,, dont know any other user in punjab so where do i test it ?
if i had any choice i wudnt have asked u !
i never said fault is in ur cdi ,,
its not my fault ur local customer bother the hell out of u ,, this is the first or second time i have asked u anything after buying it so plz help u want to or just say u wont and lets say i spent 4000 per year for this cdi and throw it in garbage ,, and spend some more on some other system

sqdrn ldr brar is like big brother to me ,, i respect him that much
what i discussed with him is btwn him and me ,, i told him to talk to u cause he was at ur place when he called
he talked to abt it ,, i had no idea
he calls me up and on short notice says he needs a head ,, i go and buy one and when i am abt to courier i remember and i ask him that if he talked to u ,,
he said ,, chinoy says check everything and if he cant find anything send it to me ,,
so i didnt go and pull it out and send it cause i stil thought getting bothered for 2 weeks and bothering u and being without bike without being sure shot is a bad idea

the question isnt abt replacing ,, i asked in doubt if u will do it or not ,, u can simply say no instead of being rude and sure i dont mind i even asked abt cdi 5
and after wards i thought asking on the forum is a gud idea if u can help or u dont have time i can atleast share my thoughts and prob with other members and maybe i find a solution with ur help and maybe someone had this prob and found a quick solution
i did this still keeping in mind the reputation of ur cdi that maybe its still some other fault
and told only my thought and other persons i interact with
doesnt necessarily means i mean disrespect to ur product or u

but maybe its not me
whos complicating things

at that time i thought keeping and checking it again was better idea than sending it to u or buying cdi 5 for XXXXrs maybe its some small thing !!!

i think u r a genius and i know a important fact all great minded people are usually egoistic and short tempered but sometimes its in unnecessary

Dude it was a conference call where we spent a long time talking I could hear you and hear him and Im pretty sure you could me talking to him.
was telling him what the best course of action should be.
He was talking to you and to me at the same time.

I heard him telling you to send the unit in for testing.
And you agreed to send it.

Its nothing as complex as you make it out to be.
Its just an age things.

There is no point saying anything without know who your talking to.

One I spoke to with Sqd Ldr Brar on the Phone the other I did not.
I even meet two guys called Amrit.

Update on this case.
The owner had sent me the CDI for testing.

After Extencive testing both by my self and other memebers who are on this forum.
It was found to be in perfect working order.

Your CDI is being returned shortlly.

If your still having problems start a seprate thread on trouble shooting in customer support.

The first thing you need to do is change your plug to a Mico W5BCR and get the Honda Activa plug caps or a NGK plug cap.
