Hi from Trivandrum

Post by rroopesh »

Hi everybody, I am Dr Roopesh, from Trivandrum. I am 42 years old and work as Professor, and head a department in one of the colleges in Trivandrum. My tryst with a two stroker was with my RX 100, which unfortunately I had to part with more than a decade ago.

No you people may be wondering what I am doing here in this forum, which, in-spite of this being my first post, I had been reading on for quite some time. It all started when some of my kid students (! yes students ) started bringing their Harlesys to the college. I naturally got to ride these bikes a couple of times, and boy, was I thrilled with the wind in the air feel and thus my keeda to own a bike yet again started. I had to fight much opposition @ my home as the better half could not imagine me, what with two daughters, one in high school riding freely in a bike. However I braved the opposition at home and started looking for a bike for myself.

I knew it had to be an RD 350 because even during my RX days I was so much in love with it. Now the search for my RD started in earnest and in the past couple of weeks, I saw 3 bikes, unfortunately all three were badly done and more over for the exorbitant asking price they simply were not worth.

At my age I am not looking for a drag racer or a track machine. What I want is a reliable, as stock as possible machine which maybe I will take to college once a week and for short odd runs. But considering the current state of the RD's available, I doubt if I will find such a mint machine, rather I may have get a machine and build her to my own satisfaction.

I know that I have come to the right place for my search for the elusive RD, but I also hope that you will all support me and bear with my newbie questions and guide me to my goal of my own 'perfect' RD350.

Bye for now

Dr Roopesh R
