Lately a lot of people have been showing interest on the MVP.. I think it deserves its own thread
What is the MVP?
its a VV/VW box shape device with 2300mah/2600mah inbuilt battery. It also works as a external battery charger for any usb chargable device.
The appeal of the mvp is that its cheap, reliable, and easy to use
Cheap-
It costs 2700rs on fasttech. Some places have it for cheaper but most U.S sites sell it for rs3k+. But its not just about the 2700rs. A mech mod would cost around half of that.. But its not the whole story. A mech mod is a threaded pipe with a switch and a 510 connection. You also need to buy a charger and a batt. Proper charger costs 500-900 rs. A batt costs about the same as a charger. Add that up and it costs same or more than an mvp. a sigeli kick costs 500-600rs. You also get a tank (or 2)with it.. icing on the cake

Easy to use-
Its a plug and play device
You just charge, screw in tank and start vaping. When batts down, you charge again.. Yes, it can be used when its charging itself or when its charging something else.. but i wont recommend the later. Changing volts/watts is as easy as pressing a button

A mech mod means that youll need to keep 2 batts if you dont want a break in your vape. youll also need to keep an eye on the charger when batts are charging. If you want vw, you need a kick. And adjusting a kick means removing the top and fiddling with a screwdriver. So not as easy as mvp but its not the worst thing ever. Plus theres the issue of will mods accepting a kick with 18650. Youll read conflicting reports everywhere

Reliable-
Its been on the ,market for a loooong time both V1 and V2. Havent read of any horror stories on mvp yet. However, Its got an inbuilt batt. And batts have limited life.. Once a batts dead, the mvp is just paperweight
here, the mech mod trumps the mvp.. its a simple mech device and should last forever unless abused.. The chance it going dead on you are very very low. And its easy to fix.

Cons:
Non removable battery
Only goes to 11w..
Box shape isnt the most handy or aesthetically pleasing

What other options do i have?

well if you want a device that charges itself, There arent many..
Joyetech Evic, some DNA30 mods, maybe 1 or 2 more devices. All cost significantly more. However some have removable batts. So that makes em more reliable.

If you want a kickass vv/vw device and dont mind a seperate charger
Well plenty of options here.. The vamo v5 is the one most closely priced to mvp.. and is considered its direct competitor.It goes to 15w, has a fancier display too.
If you are willing to spend more, there are loads of options. Innokin VTR, Segelei 20w, sigelei 30w, Smoktech SID, DNA 30 mods etc...

SemoVAR- about the same price as above.
I think VTR lye's in a sweet spot.. Looks great, works well. Supposed to be very reliable. Doesnt cost a bomb...

If you want to sub ohm- well the only true option is a mech mod..

Why im lately inclining towards the MVP?
Well i would love to own a mech mod. I love the whole concept of it, the way they look. And their prices. But i am going to live in a college dorm soon. I think a mech mod would mean more work- hide charger, hide mod, charge batts, screw around with kick.. Chances of getting caught are high.
For the MVP, i can just pretend its a external charger for my phone.. And its just a single device.
So hiding it if necessary would be easy.. Then, there's the issue of people stealing stuff. 1 device would be easier to protect than multiple.. And i guarantee you some retard would consider use a 18650charger to charge his phone battery or his cam batt.Or try to shove a 18650 in AA batt slot in the process stealing my stuff. I just dont want the pain in the ass of constantly worrying about 3 things when i have another option
Ideally i would get a mech mod+kick+charger... and then get a vtr or something similar later on. But we all have to make compromises.. ive even considered making a 510 connection bulb holder to pretend the mech mod is a fancy torch.. But the charger and batt issue cant be addressed.
I guess the most ideal device in my situation would be an authetic dna 30 mod.. But they are wayy too costly.

these are my thoughts.. I am all ears to a device that doesnt cost a bomb and still serves my purpose.

@moshi & @ron, please suggest good device with tank for stealth vaping. I don't need to grab much attention while I am vaping in smoking zone of my office or at chai wala stall or carrying around in pocket as pack of cigarettes. As i use to smoke. Budget 50$.

Under 15$ RBA is a no brainer. Get the kayfun Lite.

For School and collage while the MVP may sound like the Shitz I would not buy it unless I could afford to get 2. Two things kill it for me.
1. The fact that you cant change the bat.
2. The max is 11 watts. That is chicken shit. I vape most of my stuff at 12.5 watts. 15 watts is more fun. Anything more than 15 and even my sony VTC 5s dont last 15 min. So dont waste money on anything over 20 watts unless you have 26650 bat support.

But I never had the problems you had. So make a call and get what works for you.

I would get a mechanical mod. Bat + Charger is Rs 700/

For discreet smoking. The small 900 Mah Bat I gave Prd is the best. You can screw on a kanger tech tank. Its small and has variable volts.

Other discreet device is the hammer mod. Its small and hidden by your hand. Again Prd uses this. Its a little less hard to hide with the 18650 bat thought. To hide you need the smallest bat.

I think is a wrong idea that you need a kick to boost power on a Mech mod. I think a raw mech mod pumps the complete power of the bat into the coil. A kick only helps you prevent shorts and low ohms and regulate the output. The kick works to 15 watts. But I wouldnt bother with one. Im getting a pure mech mod. Cause I like the idea of complete power hitting the coil need to check it out.

If you can change the bat on the VAMO I would consider that.

As most of you know I have made my own selection. The VTR was my first choice the Segeli 20 watt my 2nd.

Nothing beats joyetech ego style batts for stealth. 1100 mah is a bit long for stealth. So 900 would be the sweet spot for size vs capacity.. If mech, hammer mod is small.. You won't believe how small it is.. Pics make it look good. Just chk the dimensions on the ft page or any vids.

BTW, shifted to a paying guest/room. So no more issues of people robbing stuff.

I'm thinking if you're on a budget nothing beats a mech mod. Get a 4nine clone or a sentinel from ft for around 10-12 dollars. Absolutely tiny in 18350 BUT it uses a hybrid connector, no 510; and no lock for the switch as it uses that magnetic switch. Add batteries and charger for say 700 bucks and sorted.

Mohsi dude... you're over thinking this.

All you really need to do is make a coil glow hot quickly enough to vapourise some liquid on a wick within the time it takes for you to do a pull. And there is only so much vapour you can breathe in repetitively anyway.
Listed to all the sensible advice from folks above. Get a good quality stainless steel mechanical mod with a good inexpensive stainless steel tank like the Russian Kayfun 3.1 lite, build it well and vape away to flavour heaven.

When you become a rich, mechatronics boss you can buy a very fancy vape with all the variable doo-dads. Having used the kick on my Hammer, I can tell you there is price to pay for all the high wattage draw in terms of battery life.
Best option in my opinion is a simple 1-2 ohm coil on a good mech mod with a 18650 battery with a good tank.

@prd... mechatronics boss..lol with my immense knowledge of basic electrical and electronics , its not gonna happen.
1-2ohm coil is what im aiming.. no intention of sub-ohming.

id go with hades 26650 but that doesnt have a kick either

I got a brand new Telecoping Mech Mod.
With my Double Cross. Good thing cause my VTR and Sgelei was refusing to fire it saying the coil was too low.
I put it on the mech mod and it fired up like right away because it was a fresh coil it was at .3 Ohms. A few fires and pressing and it settled at .6 ohms which now works on both my VTR and Segeli. I see the pull for 26 gauge now.

I picked this mod because this is the one Arun purchased. And if Arun purchased it it has to be good.
Reason he bought it actually was because it was the cheapest telescoping mod on FT.

If you really want to chk it out. You need to add an ego / 510 convertor. That is the only catch to using it.
Ill throw in a charger and a free laptop bat. For an additional Rs 350/- that is what I paid for the charger.
So for like what 1250/- you have mech mod + Charger + 2 Bats. (The bats are old and used but work). Or you could buy a VTC5 for about 1350/-

Ps: Forget about the kick man. Its a pointless item. Its good to try. But Id never run one. Nothing comes close to dumping the full amps of a bat into your coil. Not even the fancy mods I have.

a very tempting proposition.. ill make a decision when i drop by. Adapter isnt an issue for me.. Have an omega rda that should be here in less than a week.
