First time using an rda- do's and dont's

Got an IGO-L from fasttech a few days back. Opened it up and saw sloppy dual coils on twin wicks. Was so excited, I said *bleep* it and just dropped some juice in there and vaped. Yummy crisp metallic vapor.
Absolutely do-
Wash the entire tank in hot water with a drop of pril. Wash till the memory of keys in your mouth fades.
Straightne and torch the wire supplied if you have nothing else.
Use ONLY boiled cotton. Drape one end over the coil to wick the juice you're going to be dripping through the top.
Line up the air hole with the coil
Don't leave excess vapour in the tank after a vape. It condenses and eventually drips back onto the wick.

Don't-
Expect it to work without some fine tuning.

I'm still working on it. I expect I'll need Ron's help very soon if I can't get the flavour you're supposed to from an rda.
Pitch in on your little nuggets of wisdom please.

The cotton does change the flavor. You have two options get used to it. Or use Silica wick.
Ive kinda reached a 50-50 solution.

My main wick is cotton. But under the coil I keep a bit of 3.5mm Braided Silica wick. Since this is not in the coil I can take it out and wash it out and re-use it. The cotton I can throw away and put fresh.

We need to try
a. Hemp wick
b. Fish Filter white material
c. Rayon
d. Good quality silica which is landing up soon.

Im thinking of getting one of these as my first and prolly only rda
Omega RDA
https://www.fasttech.com/products/1603000
Would also like to get a kayfun/russian clone later.
Its supposed to be the best cheap rda on fasttech. Also has adjustable airflow.. Cant see much going wrong here. The hole alignment issues seem to have been resolved.
Also, has 3 holes so can be used as single coil

Mohsi, I haven't seen too much about that dripper. But two things- the deep well means it can hold a fair bit of juice, at the same time a good wick setup makes up that difference. Second, the deep well and no holes in the posts mean rebuilding it might be fiddly. Either way, the adjustable air flow looks good.

Took the igo to ron's and prd rebuilt it. Turns out I had overshot the resistance, so post a rewind and cotton wicked the right way, I'm getting good flavour. Much satisfaction.

Juice depends not just on well but also on amount or wick used.. Wicks can hold a surprising amount of juice...
As for how many puffs before redripping, it depends also on the coils.. Lower resistance will mean much higher consumption rate and vice versa. End of the day a dripper is a dripper.. You. CAnt expect it to last all day like some big tanks. Ron/Simz can give a more accurate answer on frequency of driping
