Mad Rush! The RXZ

Post by Garry_RXZ »

Dispatched on 9th, i got my barrel on the 16th Oct.Fitted the barrel in a day or two, but couldn't ride the bike as a few things were yet left to be done.Took the bike from the workshop and brought it back home for 2 days, as the seat has to be properly setup.2 days to taste the bike.Currently its running the stock 4 speed carb with 180 size jet(p[provided with RDD filters). Had no time to time/up jet or tune the bike properly.
Started the bike, and the sound was different.Lovely was it.Will skip the mini run in.
Few Goodies:
RDD CDI ver V
RDD filter
RDD head mod
RDD port job
Once the run in was done, went on open roads along with to feel the change. It was 7 pm, and was dark.
Firstly enjoyed the bike at low RPMs, and it had just enough power to zip in the traffic. And as i climbed up till the mid range, i could feel the roar and power building up-----Lovely.
Now some blasts.
Was afraid to ride fast( no headlights) but couldn't control.
Second gear, ripped the bike and DAMN! did she move. It became stronger and stronger as the RPMs climbed up. I loved the grunty vibrations. In my case, the 'power vibes ' :D
It was lovely to see the FZ guy all crouched, ripping his bike hard, and i still pass him as if he was at standstill.
The bike was real fast in second gear.....no techo or speedo so cant tell figures.
Overall, enjoyed the bike a lot. Very nice power delivery throughout the RPMs. range (Thanks Ron).

Went out again today morning for some fun. Me on my RX, and my friend on my R15.all i expected was to be close to R15's rear, with this setup.
Open road.No traffic.Perfect thing for some sprint test.
Both were at 20-25kmph Neck to neck. The guy shouts 3-2-1- GOoo!!! Raised the throttle.
First gear, we are still almost neck to neck.By the time i was to shift to second, the RX was a inch ahead.
Shifted to second, still the same,,BUT as soon as the rpm started climbing up, i passed him as if the R15 was almost not moving. 'GRIN !'
He stood no chance at all.
R15== all shifts at 10k.
Enjoying the ride, its really a lovely setup. Thanks again Ron,and also a grateful thanks to other RDD members.

Eager to run it once its with a better carb perfectly timed with a chamber.
Thanks RDD.

Thanks for the kind words.
I think you forgot the RDD reeds package also.
I have given you a normal stage 2 street port. So engine life / crank life and mileage should not be hit too badly.

Just keep one thing in mind no matter how fast it feels now it can got much faster and make a lot more power.
Just focus on jetting the bike right first. Then take it form there. (The 180s where provided for stock ports and stock carbs. So you may be pretty lean).
Please do not go racing FZs and R15s without dialing in the jeting first. Or you will blow up your engine and blame me / feel bad about the complete thing.

Work on the squish, work on the timing and once you get a half decent set of chambers on her power should go up by another 30% at least.

If there is anything Ive learned from tuning the RX its that you cant get real power out of it. Until you fit 28mm carbs and some kind of chamber.
Any kind will do. Even one made by the road side. Get larger carbs. Give me a call for you options. You can get good carbs starting from 4K going all the way up to 20K.

To start with setup your needle in the richest position and see if the bike make more power.
If it does then you need larger jets.
If it doesnt feel as good then your jetting is ok.
