rx100?? rdd cdi is a MUST HAVE!!

Post by la4440 »

well its been more than a week since i got the rdd cdi installed in my rx100..i am pure noob when it comes to technical things of the bike :)
but the cdi took hardly 30 minutes to install,me staying in pune,torqu3e or teji sir from bangalore helped me with the install on the phone live :)

the bike does not heat at all and the mileage has indeed gone up..after the plug cap change to a honda activa one,it felt more crispy too..

as for power,i am yet to advance the timing,so havent got much gains in that..but i am 99.999% sure ill get a power boost with the timing being advanced..

so as if now,i am satisfied and very impressed with this product..get it ASAP!!!

here are the videos to prove how effective the rdd cdi and Chinoy Filter are..

yamaha rx100 vs tvs apache rtr fi
same riders in both videos

before( k&n rc1060,ngk iridium plugs,fibre reeds)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWkvG5nu ... re=channel

after( replaced k&n with Chinoy Filter, rdd cdi and bigger jets)

Thanks for the faith LA4440. All it takes is faith to place the order.
After that its all smiles.
Glad you like the CDI.

To get the most from it though I would advise you experiment with a few things.
Like to start with advancing your timing.
Then try both curves 1 and 2.

Enjoy.

IF that RTR FI was properly launched, then you can go neck t neck with a P200 as well.
Great improvement no doubt....

finally..jus came home drenched..its pouring like anything in pune.. :)
advanced the timing finally, rotated the base plate clockwise according to the markings teji sir told me..
well i havent taken a proper ride as yet, roads were wet, traffic and all.but this is what i noticed
the accel has become a little sloppy or rather say the 0-about 1/2 throttle response has reduced a bit
but it has equally jumped up from the mid range to full ie 1/2-full throttle..
i could only rev high 2-3 times, but this is what i experienced..
if this happens with every rx,then all is well,if not, then prolly i need more test rides..

question
1)a wrong timing can hole the piston, now suppose i have gone wrong with my timing somewhere, how do i find out in advance i am holing my piston?
2)i hope i dont have to retune the carb now,its such a pain in the ass..!!
i feel its ok,but if there is a need, pls let me know..

will post the full review after a good test of the bike at the redline.. :)
but the future seems bright :)
special thanks too rd sir and teji sir..

Ron don't take my case man, I deal with this on daily basis.

As for la4440 i didn't get my 6 cad M so no help for you.

First open up your carb, that is clean the emulsion tube and all and set it right. Then say what the feedback is, we will tell you what needs to be done.

General review is bike makes more power throughout the revrange.
There is no hope left when you start declutching an RD.

To change the timing you have to move the baseplate - in the pic above the base plate has been rotated clockwise , hence the original holes will not line up with the screw holder - hence you have to drill new holes to hold the base plate in its revised position

And son, never ever question the usefulness of any hole ;)
