RDD cdi V5 blows 'em outta the water!!woooooohooooo!!

Post by reaper »

Packages received today.Called up one of our newer members(dragatmax) who had been chasing me for weeks to get him a cdi for his RXG.paape was kind enough to oblige and voila,30 minutes later with the cdi hooked up to the rr,we were ready to test.
We hadn't used any option wires, but the bike was able to idle at a ludicrously low 720 rpm.Prior to this it wouldn't even idle. After fingering the carb a little we settled for 900 rpm.Owner hops on and does the old point and squirt.Owner comes back with a big grin saying,"holy crap, what the *bleep* just happened?"
We didn't get time to drill the plate,so we tried option 1 on a lark and set the clip to richest.our boy took out a pulsar 220,ridden by a friend and an r15 during a smallish sprint on the way back home. Now begins the long journey for him.The discovery of ported reed cages, jetting, advance, high comp heads, motul, flatslides and unis.
We'd like to thank Ron and Teji for supplying a wonderful product that breathed new life into Arjun's(dragatmax) RXG.
Notes:It's idiot proof, seriously. The install doc covered everything. An added plus was Dorko taking the time out to label each wire.
Conspicuous lack of smoke was slightly alarming, but not worrying, since I knew it would go down,it's just that we didn't expect it to stop altogether.

Dork my ass you bitch. I do that to all CDIs so that its easier for the person installing them.

Good to know its going well.

Thanks but you really should follow the install document.
i.e. just advance the timing.
Without doing that you still haven't taped into half of what the CDI can do for your bike.

Labeling each wire started in 1999. We still had problem installs. Then it hit me most Indian mechanics dont know how to read.

Glad to see the Delhi Boys finally getting onto the RDD trip.

ridden by a 130 kilo lunatic.as per their meters,he hit 118kph maxed out and balls to the wall.i'm assuming with the carburetion sorted and a half decent pipe we're trying to build,he should be able to stay ahead of them on city streets with top speeds of close to 125,on the meter. The r15 guy is no lightweight either,he probably weighs 110.

Just remember one simple rule with the RDD CDI.
If you want more power and are not bothered about mileage. Start throwing more gas at it.
An no not the air screw scrap. Im talking larger jets, richer needle clip positions.

The more gas you feed here the faster she goes.

yup man the real riding, absolutely lacks without Chinoy Filter and rons jets, ofcourse i never thought that my bike wil ever do like it performing now.no idea about the mileage though, using 200mainjet from rons rd kit
one doubt now it do about 85kph in speedo at 8500rpm it reaches to 9000 with chambers but takes some time to reach 90kph in same gear,

im using stock 5speed carb will a flatside make difference there man
teji- i skipped the disc brake idea so can put money here, bit more power,
or vm28 i already have with me??

As it has been discussed lotsa times before, the RXs are seriously undercarbed, so a bigger carb does seriously help especially on a 5 speed barrel.
