Whats we are working on viz the Ignitions.

As most of you know Export sales have taken a huge hit in the last few months. I can only hope that this is temporary. And due to the economic downturn. Which should pass.
Im hoping its not because of any other reason.
Anyway this forced gap in sales has given me time to think and this is what I have come up with.
a. There is no doubt that the RDD Kit has received world wide recognition for being good value for money. For increasing power, boosting mileage and dropping emissions.
BUT
There seems to be a certain section of the market that dont want to buy it because the CDI is not programmable. This is a mental block because you can change the map by shifting your max advance point. Which is all you really need to do. Or you select our 2nd map which has been designed for modified engines.
We also built and sold programeable units. But what I found was that in each and every case the customer was not able to get the bike to run right much less perform. They would call up and either say the CDI was at fault or where honest enoughf to admit they didnt know what values to use.
So then I would have to give them my curve. They would enter that up and the bike would run and perform fine. But this created another problem i.e. the curve would become public knowledge and anybody who could make a programeable CDI would copy it.
Lucky for me the last curve we had to hand out was curve 3. We are now on curve 12.
Anyway I have come up with an idea.
We will keep the kit the same. But we will offer a programable CDI. Which can be hooked up to a PC and you can program in what ever curve you want.
We will also provide a switch. When your done playing with all the possible combination's and are ready to just admit that you cant know as much about curves as somebody who has been doing this for the past 10 years.
You throw a switch and our curve kicks in.
This way we do not need to share our curve data. And all the guys who know what they are really doing have the freedom to program in what ever they want.
This is still in idea stage and we will be coming out with boxes for most major Indian bikes. It may take a year to finish. And at first will only be offered to existing RDD customers as an upgrade. At a latter date we will sell it as part of the kit with an increase in price.
So guys this is the plan and the road map for the furure. Lets hope it comes to pass.
