Hello everyone, (my RD and Kwacker 400 pictures included)

Post by chezhian350 »

Hi guys,

my name is Chezhian and am 24years old(is that old?) and I am from Bangalore...well to start off I think I joined this forum a long time ago and promptly forgot the password....which i recovered yesterday using the lost password feature.....hence the extremely late introduction....think i am logging on after a period of a year......my apologies.....
bikes owned.... first bike of any sorts, 1986 Yamaha RD350....which i have had for the last 6 years.....and a 1986 Kawasaki GPZ400R ninja..which I have had for the almost 2 years.....both were pretty much basket cases when i brought them the RD was not even running and I still have a long way to go before they can be called mint.....
Am presently not in India though, am living and studying in Italy pursuing my childhood dream of becoming an automobile designer....been a long hard road ...but looking better now....I really do miss riding back home and I cant afford a motorcycle here...but I do get my fix here by going to the Monza F1 circuit almost every weekend( as a spectator though), it is just 15Km from where I stay.....
That is about as much as I can think of now, oh and I am a big fan of 80s and 70s bikes....and one of my dreams in life is to own the real muscle bike, Laverda Jota...sigh!!
Really hope to gain a lot of knowledge here from everyone and share what little I know.

finally would like to share some pictures of my motorcycles.

RD350, yes I know that expansion chamber may not be the best available, but it was there on the bike when I brought it and I have only recently brought it to its present shape....it took me 5 long years.., would love an RDD chamber on it....

thanks,
Chezhian

Welcome aboard Chezhian.

I like the simple paint scheme of your (ex)RD. Suits it.

i heard that the bullets seal is a direct fit....a friend has used it...i haven't used a bullet seal so i dont know.....but a bullet one does the trick i am told....as for me, I got a bunch of spares with the bike....which included bits like a couple of fork seals....so i got lucky.... :D :D

yes. police RDs were white. they had some minute differences with reference with the ones sold later...

i think they had US spec liners and there was provision on the crash guard for mounting the flashers...

thanks a lot for the warm welcome guys.....appreciate it....
yup the white bikes were police bikes and...and yes the flashers were mounted differently, they also had side pannier box....wow US spec liners, didn't know about that no wonder they killed themselves hehe..not that the indian spec barrels would have made any difference..
but then my bike is not a police bike rather i had repainted it some 3 yrs ago in this white shade.....you guys would probably have lynched the previous owner if u guys had seen the colour combination when I brought the bike...:)
@ajaybiz
the whole front fork setup is changed to the one from fury, so no welding of caliper mounts required.....and yes ninja has after market pipes...not a very good one too...sounds fantastic but...any suggestions on replacements...

@vinaykumar
thanks man.....i do have a bunch of pictures from monza including WSBK round which i had gone to and classic F1 cars racing......but I have no idea where to post them.....any guidance...sorry if this sounds silly...
