Some Prices for RDD services and Products.

I fall off my chair in splits when customers ask me if it will cost them 60K or 80K to rebuild a RD.
Historically I have never charged more than Rs 4500/- for an engine rebuild as labor. When I felt it was not worth the money we switched to customers sending in their cranks and barrels and handling the rest them selfs. Because of the high demand this year I have increased my Labour rate to 10k and there is still an endless line of customers.
Crank:
If you want us to supply all the parts a crank rebuild costs between 4500 and 14000 depending on quality of parts you want to use. We will rebuild the crank with any new conecting rod, Be it OEM Yamaha RD, or Wiseco or TKR anything as long as its not been touched by a lather shop.
The price for porting a pair of RD barrels has never been more than Rs 8000/- In the early days I used to do it for Rs 4000/- or free.
The Price for the last set of chambers I made and sold was Rs 8000/-
But seeing how even second hand RD chambers and being milked for 15K I have increased my price to 12K.
If you want to spend money on a restoration project there are no limits to the amount of money you can pump into it. But if you asked me for a average cost to rebuild a RD motor Id put it at around 30-40K tops.
A full sleeve liner Job is Rs 6000/-
Porting of both barrels Rs 8000/-
Reed Mods Rs 5500/- (Includes our Dual Frequency reed setup) For both cylinders.
My problem is too many customers and not enough time to take them all on.
This is a common issue with tuners world wide and nothing can be done about it. The only option is to then hire staff and have them do the work.
But in this country my Moto is want something done right. Do it your self.
The other issue is you take a kid off the road. Teach him everything to help you and a few years down the road. They kick you in the back side and then go setup their own workshop.
So that is why Im not open to taking on staff to help us grow.
Lastlly this has been the typical scene world wide.
Tuner gets famous for his quality builds.
Tuners business grows.
Tuner Hires staff to help him.
Quality goes down
Tuner gets bad name.
To avoid the above I have opted to work at my own pace and do everything myself.
