Vrooom!!!

Post by atul_astro »

Got my RDD Digital III installation done today. I was running a crappy local cdi earlier which never let the bike perform better, nor even function at its optimum, but thats how it was when i got the bike, and i needed to change that, which has eventually happened.

Okay, let me cut it short here and get precise to the point.

The bike pulls clean to 7k with no glitches at all inspite of being an LT, which I believe is freaking insane.

The timing isn't spot on yet..Rohit has basically got her fired up for now and in spite of whatever timing it is running now, the bike is making some clean power, and the powerband has just simply been magnified...it has me speechless

My powerband has become like extra wide now...Starts at 3.5k rpm and goes all the way to 6.5k rpm...Also the hit of the powerband is just so amazing and intoxicating, it had me giggling like a 5 year old toddler

The bike's power characteristics have improved greatly!!..seamless flow of power...and the bike handles very smoothly...No more misfiring whatsoever....

My detonation problems have been cured for good...No more deto at 4k which used to happen once the bike used to get heated up...Fact is that the bike didn't heat up after one full hour of being on WOT on the express highway on my way home...I'm surprised, and for the good.

The bike feels smooth at low revs too...No more bog below 3k which used to happen after coming to lower revs after some hard riding...SMOOTH is the word here :)

Have to jet her and time her right, after which will post up the details...Its been a long wait for the CDI, but at the end of it, its been completely worth every bit. There is always more than what meets the eye, and this is exactly what i feel is the case with the product. Its truly value for every single paise I've paid for the cdi, actually much more than what i've paid and im happy about it!

CREDITS:

the first thanks to ron, for the class product. I have to admit, the CDI has made a huge difference to the bike...Im in love with my bike once again, and I'm loving the way the bike moves now...Its indeed one of your finest creations

second thanks to tejinder...thanks a lot for getting me the cdi, even though i've bugged you and pestered you a lot for the box and i've harassed you folks for the installation without moving a muscle, you guys did it for me...All the hard work has paid off and im grateful!

third and the most important thanks to motorhead a.k.a rohit for helping me out with the whole installation...This fellow has single handedly completed the whole installation on the bike..Including the very irritating woodruf key to the adapter plate that i got...I appreciate all the hard work you've put into my bike and working on the bike as if it were yours.. I owe you bigtime for all your help!

Also, a heartfelt thanks to dhruv for letting me keep the bike at his place all these days and working on the bike until late night with us.. All your help has finally made it worth the effort

Thanks a lot again guys for your help..It would be impossible and i mean impossible for me to ever have the RDD cdi without you fellas

Thanks you RDDREAMS for such a wonderful product. It doesnt get any better than this ;)

Enough thanking business, u people fking embarass me.

The bike feels like a big 4 stroke to ride, no distinct powerband pulls from the word go, but for an LT it pulled clean to 7k, not to mention his carbs are in a really shitty state from sitting for 2 months.

Next time u come down with the bike, we will change that bolt to a really good allen bolt so that should solve the rest of the problem.

Enjoy her and now u know what the RDD trip is all about, happens to most of the people at different times of life, but the reactions are all the same from everyone.
There is no hope left when you start declutching an RD.

Smoke up.
Take it for a spin late at night. An empty road.
And let her loose listen to the engine note. As you whack the throttle open.
It is a Symphony of sound.

The engine is making power. The engine isnt strained. The engine just wants to sing.
Thats the level of work and attetion to detail that has gone into making this product what it is. Years and years of back breaking work. Hundreds and thousnads of combinations on everything from the curve to the the spark duration to the strength of the spark.
Consider yourself lucky that you got to experience such magic in motion.
Future generations will not.

It can get better. Get your self a pair of decent jets and time the bike. You guys are runing blind on the timing.

did exactly that but didnt have any stuff on me to smoke up...waited in thane till it was 12am at night just so that i can pull the bike to its maximum on my way home...The exhaust note at powerband is just simply intoxicating...I was literally high with that exhaust note....You are right, the bike does sing now...I got so hooked to the feeling that i woke up 4am today morning once again just so that i could ride my bike again...The power and the intoxicating howl is sure getting me obsessed with the bike....

Not to mention this is the same bike which other RD owners in my area mockingly used to call "Bullet RD350" coz it used to be slow, and real slow at that....Its gonna be such a Kodak moment on their faces when the bike is gonna rev past them!!!...The bike now wheelspins if you give too much gas from standstill...Tejinder literally wacked the throttle open in second and the bike just spun the rear tyre out!!!...And I'm running good tyres!!!....This is insane!!

My only tip to all you guys who are so hooked to the RDD Trip.
Buy a black box and keep it under your bed. Cause god forgiving anything where to happen to your black box.
Youd be back to the old RD and there would be no choice. Take it in writing 2-3 years from now when the black box is no longer in production people will be paying silly money for 2nd hand units

While you have a chance buy and stock up on a few backup units.

Dont think that the bike is good to ride all day now. You have to put good petrol filters on it, put the cap on the petcock strainer, bring it down here so that we can set the max advance at 23-24 degrees precisely.
