USA CDI Orders
Hi Ron,
I placed my order with you last month. Can you tell me where I am on the list for USA deliveries.
Thanks
Alan

RE: USA CDI Orders
We normally try to stick to the 2 month commitment. But this time things are so bad. We are runing 3 months behind schedule.
Im trying my best to clear all pending orders.
Optimistically your kit will ship within the 2 month window. Worst case 3 months.

You know the saying want something done right do it yourself.
I dont trust anybody else. Also if something goes wrong the buck stops here. Cant blame anybody else. We are pretty much done with this batch of kits. Only testing and its out.
Cheers

RE: USA CDI Orders
hey there guys! my name is andy i have 74 rd350 that i am building and i am having trouble figuring out what ignition options i have for the bike. for some reason i cant find anyone to sell me one. do you guys know who i should talk to about getting one in the usa? i emailed you chinoy but you never got back to me. i read some rumors on here tht you arent making them anymore? is there someone else i can go through? all i care about is not running a battery and being able to power the lights and obviously that the bike runs well. but i am not trying to make loads of power or anything what do you guys think what kinda options do i have?

You can buy the Kit from Germany 600$ I believe.
Though I seriously doubt its made in Germany. More like imported from china assembled in Germany.
Or you can wait for us to restart our RDD kits.
Right now there is no stocks for the magnetic drums. I have to find time to line up a source.
Please understand its not about power. Its more like common sense. i.e. having a map optomised to your particular engine.
When you have this you have more power, better mileage, and less wear and tear on your engine.
This is an air cooled engine. 90% of the excessive wear and tear on the engine is due to the fact that your stuck using a static map.
Lets just say your engine is not happy being forced to run at static or a bad map.

RE: USA CDI Orders
yeah i would love to run the rdd setup it sounds like everyone is really satisfyed with your products. i just need to get this bike up and running if you know what i mean i am trying to get it finished for some up coming shows. do you have any idea as to who i can contact about the german one? ( i know i feel like an ass asking about it since they are your competator) the other thing i have been thinking about is what about adapting a banshee atv ignition? i heard that the taper angle of the crank was diffrent betwwen the liquid cooled and air cooled cranks? i work at a hot rod shop and am a machinist so i am wondering couldnt i just machine my air cooled fly wheel to fit the stator and all that stuff? i honestly dont know much about what goes into an electronic ignition i mean i know allot about standalone ecus and ignition maps in reguards to cars. i asume it basilcy has a halleffect sensor right? can you guys point me in the direction of some sites or posts that can get me up to speed on how all this works that way maybe i can utalize some of my skills to try to do my part. thanks for all your help i know i just asked a million questions that you guys probably get all the time.
RE: USA CDI Orders
The Banshee Map is pretty lame wont work well on the RD.
If anything the RZ350 or TZR250 Map may stand a better chance.
But even here your core problem is these are all liquid cooled engines. Trying to run a LC map on an old air cooled could be a bit risky.
No HAL sensor just a coil much like your cam position sensor pickup.
Yes you could probably knock together an adapter where one end goes into the Banshee drum and the other goes over your RD crank end.
but Due to the weight of the Drum (Banshee and RZ drums weight a shit load more than my kits drums). This kind of arangement never lasts very long.
How about picking up an old NewTronics or Martek Ign setup till you can buy something half decent.
Paying 600$ for a crappy static ign is criminal in my book.

RE: USA CDI Orders
yeah i may have to do that. i just am not sure if i can fit a battery in there now with the modifications i have but i suppose that may be the olny option. do you know off the top of your head anyone in the states that sells those? also with that i just have to use the stock rectifyer and that stuff right? all that stuff on the bottom of the battery box is pretty ratted out is there a anything newer out there that might work better? thanks in advance.
RE: USA CDI Orders
Both Newtronics and Martek have gone out of business but 2nd hand units do crop up on ebay as do 2nd hand units of my own kit.
Speak to John at economycycle my US distributor. My last 5 kits went to him.
