Intro 77' RD400

Post by Dofin »

Hi and hope I can meet some folks with like interests. I have had my RD sence 1981. I baught it from my friend and was with him when he purchased it new in 1976 in Montgomery, AL USA. It has pretty much been on the road every sence then up until 1999 when I put it in storage in the hopes of completely rebuilding it. Well time flys and it is finally time to get the gal back on the road!

I have been emailing Ron Chinoy from Indianwebworks and now Im waiting for a responce. Anxious and hoping for some word soon.

My plans are to have the engine overhauled get stage one porting done, get an upgrade on the clutch, slap on some tune pipes, new intakes with boost bottle, of course a digital CDI (if I hear from Ron?), update the front forks, rebuild the original brake calipers/master cylinder, some nice clip ons and a sharp fairing.

Pullling the engine tomarrow to ship off for the start on rebuild. Thanks and any suggestions or help is most appriciated!!! Dofin

This is where the last stand for two strokes is being fought out.
We are trying to give the two strokes all the benefits and techonology that the manufacturers refused to give the two strokes and instead pumped into the Dissels.

Two strokes rule.
Two Strokes for ever.

Thanks I will let all know how I am doing. I plan on doing pictures along the way. Just located a nice stash of engines, frame parts ect to help. I scored a cool set of rims!! and front fork, dual disk front end! I am on my way but still need to get on track with Mr. Chinoy hope I hear from him soon so I can get my want list in gear? I will try the customer help side, thanks for the suggestion, but I know Ron is BUSY so I dont want to get on his bad side by being to ANXIOUS! LOL I am sure it will happen in good time.
