$&%*@$#…!!!

Post by Kaushik »

…..was exactly what I felt when I first rode the bike this afternoon!! I now know what ‘at a loss for words’ means! I was literally groping for words and just couldn’t stop smiling :D

First Ron rode with me pillion and the bike felt rich with quite some sputtering at the low rpms. I tried riding……hmm, not much difference. Ron suggested, lets check the air screw….found out it was way off the mark. Set it back to 1.5 turns and I took it for a spin…..

She flies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost laughed out loud when I opened the throttle! :)

Man-o-man, I now know what an RD should really be like……and I also know what I was missing all these days. Its so smooth now and pulls seamlessly right from the word go.
However, at about 4,000 rpm there is a surge in power and the tacho needle tends to fly from there. Quickly shut the throttle……didn’t have the courage to go any further. Need to get used to it. There definitely seems to be a power band starting from about 3,800 – 4,000 rpm.

The whole package just rocks!!!!!……..
 Liner done by the doctor
 Combo port set-up for a wide power band
 64 mm Pro-X Racing pistons – ceramic coated
 Complete Digital CDI kit
 Chinoy Filter – twins
 240 main jets

Ron, I still have no words to describe my feeling!! Million thanx to you for making this happen.
You rock!! RDD rocks!!

More to follow

Thanks Boss. It was a long journey. Cuting liners is allways a toughf job.
Cant wait till you hit 8500 RPM your just geting a teaser of whats to come.

Run her in carefully treat her good and she will give you many many trouble free riding miles.
Keep a close eye on the temps. For the first 200 Kms. These are the most critical miles.
Talk to adrin he seems to have a good handle on how to run in a RDD motor.

It nice when a "Qualifed" Automobile Engineer appricates the work of a simple hack like me.
To vilify a great man is the readiest way in which a little man can himself attain greatness.

Totally appreciate the amount of effort and patience you have put in Ron!
I just cant wait to complete the run-in;)
Shes super smooth now. No sign of sputter at the low and mid engine speeds though shes running 240s.

Please dont embarass me Sir!!
My knowledege and experience is next to peanuts in comparison to the amount of work and effort you have put in over the past couple decades. You are way up there and there are a lot of things I need to learn from you........and I am glad I have found the right person to learn from!
