The very first RXC is back on road

Post by nav75 »

After almost 7months of wait finally the bike fired once again.
It was a long wait mostly due to me not getting time to first send the engine to ron, then get the engine from ron and finally taking out time to assemble the bike.

3rd Sep 2005, I finally took out time from the busy schedule and kept aside the whole weekend to get the bike back on road. Thanks to arpan and pramod (the bullet mech) for running around and helping in getting the bike ready.

It took us full of Sat and half of Sun to get the bike fire, mostly due to the fact that we had to keep on running for getting small small parts.

Here is the pic of the bike when it was bought (clicked a lil bit earlier than the point of buying)

Pic of bike as on 4th Sep 2005. Inside the garage, right after roaring into life.

The CDI. Ron got some queries.
Image
Right now we are running the stock CDI of RX100. Timing needs to be set properly. You will be sending the CDI but in the mean time, was wondering if we can use the current RDD CDI (shown in pic). There were two queries. Whats to be done with the green(red-white out of CDI) wire (Wire 1)? The black(red-black out of CDI) wire (Wire 2) is broken off the socket, S1. We don't remember if it was connect before or not, so whats to be done about it?

forget to tell you that we are using the RX100 and not RXG/RX135 wiring harness. The sockets seems to be different in these wiring harnesses.

Got the bike fully fixed on Sat. Small small parts including wiring was fixed on Sat, once again thanks arpan for all the help. Also put a maintanence free battery and a stock rxg pipe (without catcon).

Started riding the bike from Sat. Smoking a lot, running rich. Sun checked the compression and found it to be slightly over 7.5. Eve rash rode the bike, says its running very rich, so planing to switch to rx100 carb with a bigger jet. Ron can you please send some smaller sized jets for the pwk carb along with the cdi? Till then I can run the bike with the rx100 carb with bigger jet. Right now not running Chinoy Filter/Chamber/RDD CDI, until the running in is over.

You havent got the CDI ?
Please confirm.

I have sent out a New Digital II cdi with RXG wires. THe wires are quite simple.
Orange is HT Coil
Black is earth
White is Pulsar
SHort Red is SOurce
Long Red is +12 Volts.
I have sent you a selaed chip as people with open chips are reporting issues like my chip is loose etc.

What PSI readings are you geting on the Comp?
WHat timing are you runing pls e-mail me all the info.
What size jets do you want for the PWK I think it was jeted last for the big bore right ?

Spoke to the courier company they said you didnt give a phone number with the address. Hence the delay.

1. RUn the dam chambers. Dont fool arround with stock pipes man.
2. Run the PWKs with the chambers. Report back.

bike done around 100km's. its a bit rough in the initial rpm's but becomes smooth making sweet sound later. haven't taken it over 60 so far. getting chamber powder coated and also needs to sort the kick leaver, as it hit the chamber and makes a dent on it :(

ron how much psi the compression it should be making?

So dude Nav....tell me something...u got the digi cdi..u got the chambers what else did you get to put on the bike?? and also once u got all that did you have to do any settings, further tunings or was it all just plug in and go? I wont be having time to do all this on my bike...so i'd just need something to plonk on and hope it runs like hell...Here's what i'm planning..
Get the RDD CDI II (i'm hoping i wont have to do any adjustments for this...just remove old and put this)
Get the big bore kit ie the RXG 5 speed barrel (Ron would i need to get these barrel ported or something would u do this and send?? do u need to have my bike there for this or can it be fixed myself when i get the barrels back?)
Should i get Wiseco pistons(i'd have around 2 weeks to do the run in for this)
Planning to sacrifice a goat...and hope Ron will have time to make me one chamber.
Chinoy Filter filters?
Oh and planning to do some re sprocketing too...going for the 14/34 combo or like joel said the 14/37 OR the 16/34 combo...which do u think should i get?
Do add to list....thanks
 I'll wait for you to JUST DO IT. While I JUST DID IT
