Best mod up for bullet------UNI

Post by leppard »

Well the old man proves me wrong again, its kinda getting emabarassing actually,I had hooked on the K&N's to the bullet, aloingwith the goldie exhaust, had upjetted for this setup, it seemed to be a very good combo,so wasn't sure how big a diff would the Chinoy Filter's gonna make, the K&N's had boosted the low and mid range a bit and it was quite fun in traffic and town but on the open, the bike seemed to hit some sort of plateau, but it still was quite ok and better than stock.
On last sunday on a spur brought the Chinoy Filter's and bolted them right on,had some issue with the manifold sizes since mine is one of the older non cv carbs but with little jugad was able to fix that and fack what a diff, the bikes revs have totally changed, dunno what this facking thing does but the bike sure moves lot better with this,I was grinning in my helmet scaring some new boy's on their toys......need to go find a good 500 to see where I stand........thanx ron, this baby rocks...

you are right about grinning man.. The sound from the Air intake itself is an addition :)
The advice to ‘be yourself’ is obviously nonsense.
But our brains accept this tripe as wisdom, because it is more comfortable
to believe that we have a strategy for life than to believe we have no idea how to behave.

Exposure to rain doesn't seem to make any difference to the filter's performance or threaten the engine in any way..... I guess it would be the same on a bullet too.

doc ride your 500 in rain (with stock filter) and after a nice ride check out how much wet is your filter box from outside. my exp, in rain water hardly hits the air filter box as you are sitting and protecting it to some extent. the only problem will be of the stuff coming from bottom side which can ne day fixed by putting some cover at the bottom.

lep how about a test ride on the bike when i land up there?

Anytime Bro.
Ive been watching you playing with that K&N for some time and didnt way to say anything.
You know my funda about the Horse and the watter.

K&N suffers from the problem with the intake pulse coming out your carb. THen hiting a solid steel plate which then setups a series of reflections back down your intake which totally fack up your engine breathing.
I have some ideas to improve the performance even more with the RDD Filter esp. on the bullet. But dont want to discus it on open forum. Will explain it to you latter.

Guess that explains why my post has been deleted - guess I need to haul arse back to the Bullet Club and try staying there
