Guess I never really intoduced myself here, although I have been around over a year and a half lol, so here goes.
I got into Motorcycle Racing about 15 years ago, started tuning because I was too chicken to ride fast enough on the track. After two years (rookie season, and one more) we claimed the 250 GP championship in Canada where we raced alot because it is close to NY and the exchange rate from US$$ to Canadian is in our favor so it was cheaper. We switched from two strokes to four and had 3 riders, and 4 brand new 98 yamaha r6's for racing in AMA supersport. Did that for a long time, never won a race but did get as good as a 6th place which is good against real factory teams with multimillion dollar equipment.
It was costing us about $80.000 a year to maintain 3 riders full time in AMA supersport so we switched back to two strokes and picked up 3 aprilia RS 250's and attacked the US aprilia cup challenge, along with the 250 GP, and still race there to this day. When I am not doing that I have a 'real' job working at a small R&D company making advanced technical ceramics. We have developed a ceramic matrix compostite, and do alot of work for DOE, and Different national laboratories Like Argon National, and some space industry stuff for NASA.
The mainstay of our developement lies in the Solid Oxide Fuel Cell technology developement, which is an exciting field. I spend most of my time in the lab, but we do do some small production, nothing ever over 150 pieces though. Most of our work is one off parts. I like it though, and love machine design, and tooling which we do alot of.
Well that is a bit about me.
hey hey hey
