- Probably a sleeved bike but doesn't sound or go like one, so not sure (the bike was with the second owner who doesn't know shit about RD's, luckily had it for a very short time). No idea what oversize either.
Pulls VERY hard (this was the biggest factor in influencing my decision), rode it around in the city too and there was no difference between cold and hot engine performance
Left fork seal kaput
Left Carb gasket will be kaput soon
Right muffler sports a tiny leak near the mid-length joint.
Tacho working perfectly, speedo kaput
All electricals working fine. Rode from Nasik to Pune at night with the headlamp on all the while, no problems.
Fuel tap only works in Reserve position (ON position not working)
Oil pump working well. But I add some 2T to the petrol too, as a safety measure.
New Daichi points, and I suspect, Bullet coils (gotta check)
Surprisingly good fuel average (filled 400 rupees worth of petrol in an almost-empty tank in Nasik, rode 230 kms to Pune, rode about 50 kms in the city yesterday and today, and there's still quite a bit of the orange stuff sloshing around in the tank).
Original Wire Mesh Air Filter.... I am thinking of putting a foam element over it
Front brake VERY grabby. I was told it is because the shoes are new. I think the tail-lamp was changed because the previous owner got tail-gated from behind. No serious accident damage
Shoddy paint job, but looks good from more than 3 feet away. Yamaha Cherry Red color (this, in my opinion was the most unappealing thing about the bike, since I wanted a blue one) with original black & white striping.
Original Headlamp with body-colored casing, unoriginal tail-lamp (Bajaj Boxer I think). Locally lathed indicator stalks, RX-100 lenses, minor chroming needed.
1) Ron, for creating RDDreams and preventing a lot of blokes (including myself) from getting ripped bigtime.
2) Zloyd for showing me some amazing bikes in Pune (I almost bought Saurav's bike but the no-NOC thing was a sad deal-breaker).
3) Rash, for tolerating all my frustrated posts at not being able to buy his fabulous HT (probably the only HT i wouldn't have minded buying)
4) Leppard for generously sharing his (I suspect, newly acquired) knowledge about RD's.
THANKS GUYS! You will be hearing a lot more from me soon.
