The PCB Design and production is going to start.
Its costing me a shit load of cash. Ive taken out another loan to cover costs.
RDD will own the PCB design / Filim. For later production runs. There is only one company in India that can produce the quality I need. You have seen pictures of the RD Pro CDI I dont think you can get a PCB of higher quality that that. Ive seen the quality of some of the PCBs being made by other companies and there are a joke. Once you see the quality of this PCB and the components. You can decide for your self. If there is anybody or even OE guys who can match it.
This time we are also going in for a seprate PCB for the hand held reprogramer. In the past we didnt have a PCB for this.
This will truelly be a universal CDI. It will work on any Pulsar internal or External. We are also using some of the most advanced PCB software where the tracks are spaced based on the voltages they carry. As our CDI will be dealing with close to twice what your avrage CDI handles power wise. Pictures of the PCBs will be posted. So you can see for yourself.
We will be runing a sample batch of only 8 Units.
The same PCB will be used for the regular CDI replacement market and the PRO or Programeable version.
These 8 units will be going out to a select few customers. Martin from German. Jan Tore and a few others. On a first come first serve basis.
Subsequent to this Distributors will be Appointed. Who will buy in Bulk from us. Offer warranty and customer support. We will not be selling this product direct. As I have no business acumen or sales knowledge.
This CDI will work on Banshees / RZs / RZ500s i.e. any two stroke or four stroke. Thats how its being designed. i.e. for Singles, twins, even V-Fours like the RZ500. And V-Twins like the Aprila. Most probally Jan Tore will handle sales for Europe. MK for Germany.
Two units have been booked one by Jan Tore and one by MM or Martin.
The remaining six are open. Pricing will depend on options picked. i.e. do you want the ferite core bosting output, shift light, Programer, number of curves, etc. The FInal PCB size is 2.5"x4.5"

Here are the features of the final design. No plans to reinvest in a new design for at least 2 years. So read the feature list. This will be the basis off all CDI units made by RDD. In the future.
1.Programe Mode /CDI RUN MODE.
2.Curve Select mode a total of three curves. Two Plus one static curve.
3.Wasted Spark/Non wasted spark mode in Internal pulsar mode.
4.Optional sensor interface (able to sense one hi or lo state ) This is the line in for the Deto Sensor or EGT / CHT whatever you want to tell the brain to back off on the timing or advance..

6.Ferite Core Option to boost spark strength.
7.led for pro/cdi/signal out states. An LED will tell you wether the CDI is read to run or be programed. Another LED will indicate wether its reciving a clear signal from the pulsar. Since this is a universal CDI you need to know wether the CPU is picking up the fire signal from your particular CPU.
8. First CDI designed with two seprate capsitors.
9.Internal/extenal pickup signal selection on PCB. Making the CDI truelly universal.

Starting from a simple CDI replacement with a single curve. To a fully loaded version with all the features and a hand held programer.
