Kudos to Ron & the Digital CDI

Post by cutcrank »

This is an awesome discovery i made couple of days back about how efficient the Digital CDI is. We all know that how it helps to make the bike rev out and make good power :) Well there's a good news for econo misers amongst us too!

Since i have converted my bike back almost to stock except three things (slightly ported 4 speed bore by RDD, 28mm carb and the Digi CDI) i was quite happy with the mileage i was getting which was around 37kmpl and that too in traffic and wot rides once the road cleared up. The best i got was 40kmpl :)

I never did give a second thought about that, coz i thot it had to do with the 4speed barrel. Delivering an average of 37kmpl doesn't mean that the bike's slow (well it's slow compared to our club bikes hehehe) but it's faster than a stock five speeder and any four speeder without pipes :)

But till yesterday I didn't realise how important the role the CDI played, i removed it and put the stock shitty unit back on. And i dint make any other change. The mileage has dropped to 28-32 :( And the revs have come down also :(

I never did realise how much the Digi CDI helped in the mileage department as i was always on the Digi CDI for a long time and only when i put the stock anologue thing back on did i realise.

I'm very much tempted to put the Ron's Digi CDI back on :) Digital CDI rulez!! I'm very much impressed even now, after having it for many months i'm equally impressed as i was the first time :)

Kudos indeed!!

Same story here pal ... slightly different theme though

Before getting my bike in for dream works I had run points and tried out a shitty local CDI which had ruined my engine.

Enter RDD and the transformation happens.... everything redesigned by Ron, and I get a awesome CDI with a good curve and the bike would pull like a train till 9krpm.
The REAL experience was when Ron gave me a new black box with a better curve .... this one was totally mind boggling, the bike now revs out to 10krpm, bike idles at 700 rpm and I get a mileage above 18kms to the litre.

Let me flaunt what i got from RDD....
Custom made extra hard liners,
Awesomely ported HT,
Digital CDI, which other than a crazy power band also ups the mileage
Wiseco hotrods, Wiseco banshee racing pistons, Keihin PWKs ....

Which now according to me has 3 power bands, pull like a train from 2-5k, 5-7.5 there is power band and 7.5-9.5 you cannot miss the rush ... your target is approaching in half the time you thought it would take ...

All I want now is custom pipes (silent and deceptive)....

Dream on
Everyone has a story to tell and we learn from those stories....

I can also vouch for the CDI. My bike was running like crap with the shogun CDI with the timing going haywire.... the move to digital cdi was my first step towards a better future for my bike...

Yup another satisfied CDI customer here :) The curve I sampled on my friend's RXZ was even better, the stock motor gaining 1500rpms extra and that too super smooooth \:D/

With the stock CDI back on the difference is really apparent with the mileage going down and it not revving out much. I'm missing the digi :(

Yes this product need to be marketed aggresively and widely.

ROn, what happened to plans of ads in the auto mags?

I think you should seriously consider it....not many people in this country who can or will spend on their RDs, but plenty to spend on their RXs....think about it.....

I feel with what has been achived in terms polution drop, mileage boost, better burn, more power and THE most advanced Digital CDI in the country. The Auto Rags should be hounding me to profile the product and inform their readers. The fact that I should now pay them a few Lakhs to advertise my product. Goes against everything I belive in.
Id prefer to just burn the code and blue prints than stoop to that level. It just re-infoces my belifs and lack of trust in the rags. That they will only profile or review something if there is something in it for them. Either in terms of advertising revenue or free products. If this was the UK or US the mag would buy the product install it test it and profile it.

This is like you spend your life looking for the Holy Grail of two strokes you find it and now you have to pay to share the benefits with others.
No thanks. You have to ask your self do the auto mags even know the meaning of the word reporting.
To vilify a great man is the readiest way in which a little man can himself attain greatness.

Ron Bhai.....the way i see it..you have here more than what u need dude.....even if its a hand full of people who appreciate your dedication and hard work rather than having people who dont really give a shIt about what ya do for 2 strokes. Unless of course your in it for fame and fortune which we all know your not. Look at it this way, ad's in mags or not your famous dude......not only here but among the satisfied customers abroad too. Then again talent and dedication that you've put in deserves more than what ur getting......someone help this "Grumpy ol Man" hehehe..Anyways keep up da damn good work!
 I'll wait for you to JUST DO IT. While I JUST DID IT
