The opposite of a mech mod is a Digital Mod.
I know quite a few people have gotten them selfs Digital mods and feel guilty about it. Or dont want to tell anybody on BV that they have one.
Dont be.
We opted not to stock and sell them. The reasons are simple.
1. Price.
No matter what the mod. Or what the price is when it comes out. By the time you get it in your hands. The price is going to be half.
As a business proposition this is never going to work out. I see guys selling the MVP for over 5K on Indian sites and I know you can get one for Under 25$ today.
I dont blame them for the pricing. I have seen this happen with every new mod come out. Expect the price to drop by half in under a month.
2. Very high Failure rates.
When we sell something or import something to sell. We get zero warranty. Well you can hope to get some if you ship it back to the USA (Better warranty). Or China. Poor warranty.
As a re-seller we get zero warranty. Almost every digital mod I have purchased some costing more than 100$ has stopped working. Either because it was dropped. Or because some juice got inside it. Or just bad luck.
We can tell customers we give zero warranty but I know for a fact 2 our of every 3 mods sold are going to fail. Or have problems.
We would rather not deal with this headache.
I could go on and on. But these are the two main reasons we opted not to sell them.
So we have no issues with people buying their digital Mods direct from China or the USA or from other vendors in India.
Things to keep in mind when buying a Digital Mod.
1. Tanks leak.
If the juice gets into the display or circuit or even a button it will stop working.
2. Power vs Bat.
On a 20 watt mod. I was lucky to go an hour or two even with a VTC 5 bat. With my 15 watt mod I go thru about 2-3 bats a day and these are good 2500 Mah bats.
So if your thinking of buying a mod with a 2500 Mah bat and its over 15 watts dont expect much in terms of bat life unless you a very light smoker or you build really high ohm coils.
If the mod is going to offer over 20 watts. It must be able to take two 18650 bats. Single bat or fixed in mod bat forget it.
I am always on the look out for a really good digital mod that we can re-sell in India. I am yet to find one.
And still love my mech mods. Not one of which have failed me to date. Inspite of being dropped multiple times. And soaked in juice.
So far the only Digital Mod which has lasted me. And which is somewhat accurate on the Ohms of the coil. Has been my iTaste VTR. That thing is a work horse. Down side it only takes a single 18650 bat. Its big heavy and bulky. But its lasted.
A few MVPs have lasted. Some have not. Plus you cant change out the bat which is why I avoid them.
We are importing a few 40 watt dual bat mods will let you know how it goes this is for customers who have paid us. And requested we find the best digital mod for them.
In such cases we do import them but they are not listed for sale.
On buying Digital Mods.

Re: On buying Digital Mods.
another important thing to note is that most digital mods reach their set/target wattage/voltage under some loads only.
