Forgot to add, I was complaining to Ron and others that i can hardly ride the bike on the roads these days... I told them that i wish that i could be riding around on this bike some 20 to 25 years ago... well everyone had a laugh at my expense saying finally you have met your match and sniggering about me growing old... was thinking of that this morning and it was something else that i meant.... they hardly got the drift was the feeling i had... all i was saying was that "I could have had more fun on the bike 20-25 years ago" .... what i meant was that the roads had hardly any traffic back then and the bike would have been more fun \:D/

I know how addictive is the pipe rush on the RX, well more so if they have the magic touch of Ron. Its a differenct zone all together I guess.

Congrats man and enjoy the ride !!

Awww... I think we hurt the old boy's feelings.
Just for that, lets silence that pipe a bit, fix that throttle cable and time/jet the bike properly. Better keep beer and other bribes ready!

Wow what a nice pick me up. Been fighting depresion and other demons for some time. I think living along for so long is taking its tool. So yes I found this post enjoyed going thru all the posts.

First off on the sound. A lot of attention went into tuning the harmonics on this pipe. If I remember right. It has various sized holes and slots cut into it to tune out various frequencies. But I suspect our boys have not changed the glass wool packing in the pipe for the last 4-5 years. So get some steel wool and glass wool and re-pack the pipe. I cant hide the sound when its on the pipe. But when its off the pipe. You should be able to go past a cop without him even lifting up his head. I know cause I tested this LOL.

Next thing is to check the CDI Im not sure but it may have a static CDI on it. If this is the case I would recomend you upgrade to the latest curve. And time it.

We spent some time dialing in everything on the stock pipe. Ive not had a look at whats been done since you put on the chambers.

Power band should be at least 4000 RPM to 5000 RPM wide. So if it starts at 4000 RPM it should be pulling till 8000-9000 RPM at least.

I do know Ajit has backed off the ignition timing in an effort to tame it. Try this put it into second gear and whack it open. The front wheel should come up really fast. If its not then you know the timing has been backed off.

Its been an interesting life. And I thank all the old timers who have helped the RDD family grow into a place where people can come and share in their common passion for power speed and reliability.

I still remember when people would say that ported two strokes would never last than 1000 Kms. And then we here stories like this where engine's just keep going track day after track day. Day in and day out.

If an engine can survive Muks. Then I think that is the ultimate stamp of reliability LOL.
I think a lot of people have Mohit to thank for pointing them to RDD. I know I owe him a lot.

Thanks for being there from the good days. And the bad days. Its been a struggle. And I would have given up a hundred times if it where not for the support I get from you guys.

Finally got the latest RX CDI installed on the bike and man she has got even better... the chamber is hardly coming off this bike anytime soon... it is so much fun to ride that it is worth playing with the cops mercies... can hardly believe my luck that i' m riding this RX around.

From the time i joined the group back in 2007, have often heard and wondered about Ajit's RX. To finally own it and see it live up to it's glory has been a very exhilarating experience for me. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have gotten my hands on this bike and everytime anyone rides the bike, they are all smiles once they get off...

My house keeper (slave) needs atleast one weekly fix of riding this RX with the pipe... he calls riding the RX "Wheeling" ... after i saw the slave have so much fun, i have started keeping the RX keys with myself.... I feel guilty everytime the bike is ridden without motul :D

Thanks again to Ron, Ajit, Prd, Shuvo and all the others who helped get this bike to this glory

Next, the bike is going to get the curve 1 / curve 2 switch and then...

Hey Guys,

Update... I seized the bike meddling with the fuel tap a couple of months back. Thankfully Ron and Prd were there when this happened. They dragged me and the bike over 10km to my place. I remember Prd commenting - "Ron, you look like the farmer sad that one of his livestock had been seriously wounded".

Thanks Ron, you came home, pestered me to get the barrel off, then got it personally rebored at Vijayadeep where they put in the latest tools to rebore it to the 5th oversize. Glad you and Prd, then came back and installed the barrel for me again. Over the last weekend, got the quick throttle removed and had the regular one installed with the Enticer cable to go with the Kehin carb.

This morning started running in. Hardly taken the bike to 5000 rpm and she is already touching 80-90 easily on the open road :1syellow1:

Was thinking of installing the GoPro camera which Sunny has loaned me and doing the first ride on the bike.. thought i would do it later ... She sings much better than ever before with the additional blessings... now this running in is itself scary... can hardly wait to complete it... here is a video of the bike with the GoPro installed at a slight angle... may give you a pain in the neck :-)

Cool baba enjoy.
Will come over on the weekend. Remove the excessive stuffing in the exhaust. And hopefully by then your run in is over. We can shift to motul and open her up into the power band.
Im sure we will get some better videos soon.
Nice to see your running it in right i.e. just entering the power band for a fraction of a second and backing off.
This is a good run in video.

Took Muks Baba's RX for a spin last evening and despite my 80kg weight found it difficult to keep the front wheel on the ground between gearchanges. It Powerwheelies between 1/2 and 2/3 as though that was the designed behaviour and all this despite being in running-in.

That chamber is a masterpiece by all means. Below 3k rpm, it sounds like an regular RX but once it enters powerband, its a whole different animal.

Ride safe Muks.

Hey Zubair,

Glad you dropped by and installed your spare thermometer on the RX. I'm very glad to have this cause i can keep my eye on the meter and stop the bike when she crosses the 160-170 Degrees.

Oh yes the bike is feeling better with every ride. This morning too has been fun and now she has completed around 200km of running in. Hope that this bike goes for many more kms of pure fun and mischief.

Whatever i had felt about buying the new KTMs and other newer bikes has been re-confirmed in my head. I'm having so much fun on the RXs and RDs and i'm so happy that i know there is so much more fun on these old 2 strokes itself for me.

Thanks for spoiling me rotten with all the blessings Ron. Dunno if i will ever get done having fun on these bikes

Cheers
