My new performance 5 speed RX 135

Post by mukund »

Hi Everyone,

I consider myself blessed by the heavens above to have got myself a dream RX135. All thanks to RDD for this dream bike to fall into my hands

It all goes back to me loosing my RX135 in Feb 2011. After that i have been missing a 5 speed RX which is a highway star.

Recently i started looking out for a RX 5 speed and was surprised to hear prices of around 50k for a stock bike... I kept thinking to myself that in case i brought one of these, I would end up getting the new cdi, Chinoy Filter filter, bigger jets, barrels blessed by baba, , maybe a highend carb.... that would be another few months and then i would probably get a highway star RX.... ruing about missing my bike self pity etc etc... and then one fine day last month when it was close to the time for miracles, i hear from one of the members that a certain other member may part with his blessed 5 speed .... and a few phone calls and a few days later... the deal is done. The bike with all the goodies that i have just mentioned above and much much more was finally mine. Tons of goodies with the bike, another stock bore, another mischief bore a fun pipe, apache front disc setup, couple of spare rims and much much more...

Then comes the part of getting the bike out of its slumber for a few years and this is where i was amazed by the camaraderie .... Shuvo took so much care of so many many things it would fill pages on the amount of detail he took care off... from having rear sets removed to finding stock footrests on a sunday afternoon to taking out the carb and putting it back an umpteen number of times to the new fuel flow tap to.... the list goes on and one.... in his absence i sure would have spent atleast a month getting things done on the bike. Pradeep spent a lot of time listening to all of my thoughts and worries about the bike and he too put in final touches on the carb, he was always there for advice and guidance ... i suppose i spent a few hours on the phone with him through out this... then of course Ron... the day the bike came to my place, we realized that the rats had got the Chinoy Filter filter, within about 30 mins, Ron was there with the filter for the boys... he was very worried if we will mess up such a good setup after all these years... I as usual giving baba more to worry with my stupid ways with the bike and notorious past list of seizures, despite this finally yesterday, baba too felt the worst was over.

Finally after all the fussing over the bike and being told many many times "just ride it", i finally took the plunge last evening and wow, is she sweet :1syellow1: this is a bike which putters around in the lower rpm and after that she hits the power band and then keeps taunting me to go faster and faster... the amount of fun i have had in the past 50 km has made me more younger and thankful to the gods for surviving :hyper: ....

I can hardly Thank you all guys at Rddreams enough for helping me out with this dream bike... she still needs a proper service and i hope to keep her well and have tons of fun with her...

The only part about the bike for me which needs to change, is the sound which gives away the mischief. Presently this bike is on the stock 135 muffler despite that everyone who hears the bike, knows some mischief is arriving

Cheers

Congrats Baba, please change the exhaust pipe, can see dent near foot rest.
What about chamber on this beast.
Best would be making two complete setup for this bike, one stock(RDD terms of stock bike) and one fully blown setup with pipes, Flat slider etc.

Its nice to see that builds I did for customers 3-4 years ago. Are being kept in the family. And still going strong.
Getting any engine to last under mukunds hands is a challenge.
But I think even Muks is learning.

This is Ajits old RX. The one that put the fear of god into even a R1 owner. LOL.
On chambers. It will rip your arms off. Better start doing some pushups. You gona need the mussels just to hang on.

It hurt having to let go of a dream, the sadness is tempered by the happiness it is bringing to Mukund. Glad he is enjoying it. Gladder still to see it back on the road putting smiles on faces again.

Submitted before I finished.

Ron, here is another testament to how much fun your philosophy of porting for a wide power band can be. Can never thank you enough both for everything I learnt from you and the effort and attention you put into the barrels and this bike.

First long ride on this bike with the Bangalore RD 350 club boys... as usual was late and caught up with all the bikes at the Lake off the Hosur road unofficially called the "Morris Gebb Lake" .... someone sniggered about how silly it was to bring an RX to the RD ride.... I told them that this bike was more than enuf for their bikes and sure enuf it was.... the bike is just waiting to hit the power band around 4.5k -5k rpm and then she keeps pulling away... within a few seconds on the open roads she became hard to catch for many of the RDs. On the open highway she got to the top speed of around 115kmph -120 kmph within few seconds and effortlessly stayed there... Mohit's RZ and only some of the RDs and I think only one 500 bullet went ahead of me. These were the few who could actually have a higher top speed could go faster and overtook me. This is on the stock silencer and muffler with zero mischief on the pipe.

Am much greatful and feel very fortunate to have this beauty bike with all the blessings.... when i first joined RDDreams i heard of RD *beep* RXs and always wondered when i can get to see these beauties in action... Then I heard about the legend of Ajith's bike being one of the fastest ones around... never in my wildest dreams at that time did I imagine that I would get to ride this bike...

It has been one amazing journey for me being a part of RDD for so long. I thank Mohit for getting me to install the RDD CDI on my RD and since then, I have had so much fun that i can now hardly think of riding any other non-rdd two stroke.

Thank You Ron Baba, I got your blessings and am having fun on each and every one of my bikes.. RDD has got me so hooked that i can hardly explain why i cannot ride other bikes... God bless you Ron and keep you well

Cheers

Hey Folks,

I'm glad Ajith picked me to sell the RX to. We all know how much he loves his bike and how much love has got poured into this RX.

The 2 other folks who have been of immeasurable assistance are Shuvo and Prd who are in love with this famous bike.... they have been talking of it for years now... that the story of the bike on the track at Coimby is etched into my head....

The number of times that thing has pulled the seat, taank and carb out to get this bike running purrrfect is atleast 50 times... for the cable to be routed correctly for the slide to open properly..... etc... Prd also put some magic into it too... The other day the bike felt a lot better after he blessed the carb by changing the float... the rdd gang has been eagerly overseeing all that has been happening to this bike.. Ron too dropped in to see the bike within an hour of it reaching my home. I'm yet to pay the big man for the Chinoy Filter filter too which is installed on the bike.... so Ajit, the whole gang is ensuring the bike is taken care off...

The whole rdd family has taken very very good care of this baby ... this seems to be the only way to understand the love and energy that have been poured into it.

Much flattered by everyone's attention to get this beauty back on the roads again

Cheers

Ron, whenever things stress you out or if you are feeling down or some idiot is getting on your nerves, please go through the customer feedback forum and remember the atleast hundreds of us who feel the same way.
Irrespective of how many will admit to it, you and this place are responsible for keeping alive and realising a lot of dreams. That alone is a lot of good karma points and blessings in your favour. Just back from a trackday at Kari and can vouch for a lot more people who feel the same way.
So just keep doing the great work, old man.

Mukunda, enjoy old boy. All this is just good karma for being a good friend to so many of us over the years.

Hey Folks,

It has been a while since I posted about the fun I have been having on the bike... After a while I finally got the magic pipe installed on the bike. I had always heard from many that a two stroke is a bike best enjoyed with custom pipes... Once a few months ago I got to ride Mohit's piped RX. Wow that was funtastic... well that was only briefly from Devanahalli to Blr about 30 mins.... now with this pipe on, it has been a fun filled last couple of weeks for me. The pipe hit is very addictive and it is very difficult for me to have it taken off despite the risks of getting it butchered by the cops who catch me

The first part of the fun is to play cops and robbers on the city roads..... need to be able to predict where the cops would be lurking and go fully down on throttle to stay away from attracting their attention. Almost every major turn, traffic lights i have the excitement of getting caught by cops... once a cop stopped me around 11 in the night and i thanks to being fluent in Kannada got away clean... he mentioned that the bike seems quite noisy and all i could offer him was "Saar, it is an RX after all" - Got a knowing smile of "Mischievous Boy [-X "

The bike went all the way to the Coimbatore track with the pipe on and wow, I know i have never ridden any harder or faster with any bike anywhere in all these years of being on the bike...

All this with zero trouble and any breakdowns of any sort. Thanks Ajit, Ron, Prd, Mautbiker and all the others who helped me have fun with this babe...

Spoke to Ron last weekend and complained about the power band being too narrow and the bike being barely ridable and all the usual shenanigans... :-({|= so hope to get some more tender love and care over the next few days to suck some more juice out of her... smiling from ear to ear every time a have a ride on the bike

Thanks RDD, if not for you, I doubt i would have ever enjoyed my bikes soooo much

Cheers
