Hello RDDians,
Hope you all are having good time with your RD. Before i go ahead, would like to thank Ron for the CDI and Ajay Biz for introducing & educating me about the RDD CDI .
Well i am enjoying every moment riding this bike and it has become my daily commuter to work unless its in workshop. M loving the xtra RPM in each gear as well as love its grow l. Its still having the stock Air filter and will be switching to Chinoy Filter in couple of days. Few issues which are bothering me are -
1- Headlight is getting fuse frequently and i am not able to fix it. Specially in the higher Rpm.
2- When i push the vehicle hard,it doesn't respond n sounds like its missing fuel (trrrrrrrrrrrrr) but after few meters it runs crazy and back to its original speed. Hope the problem will get solved after Chinoy Filter installation.
Thanks & Regards
Viish

Re: Installed RDD CDI
I am not having a good time on my RD as I sold mine a long time back
2- => check the tanks tap flow rate with a bottle and stop watch. also confirm float level within the carbs are set right.
I think youll get answers if you post again on the RD section of the forum.

Re: Installed RDD CDI
The RDD CDI will allow your engine to see the kind of power and RPM you never dreamt about. But it also means that its going to make demands on your fuel flow rate.
The stock tap will work fine. Problem is who is on a stock tap these days.
Every time it goes Trrrr. Thats your engine runing out of gas. Let it happen one or two times more and you will blow up your engine. And then you will come on post on RDD. That RDD CDI blew up my engines.
So
1. Check your flow rate. Read the old posts on this.
2. Change your headlight bulb to a higher wattage go upto a 90 Watt. If it still blows. Then have your wiring and earthing points checked. If its still an issue get your RR unit replaced.

Re: Installed RDD CDI
Change your fuel tank cap ASAP as last time when I have seen it was not allowing air inside tank and creating vacuum in gas tank.

Chinoy Filter..... ahhh gives your bike a very beautiful intake growl... so good in fact that I almost regret installing an exp chamber as I drowns the intake sound off the Chinoy Filter and doesnt sound as nice....
Re: Installed RDD CDI
Thanks Arun, chinoy, Ajay & mohsihummer for th reply.
@Arun - I will check the tap flow rate & Float level by this weekend.
@chinoy - Just being curious to know whether there is any way to retain the stock fuel tap without hampering the fuel demand ? Will check as you have suggested.
@Ajay - Yes ajay i will ASAP.
@Mohsihummer - RD with RDD CDI + Chinoy Filter =

Re: Installed RDD CDI
If the tap is stock you wont have any issues.
Only issue is if its not stock. Or if you have other issues ie. blocked breather hole in Fuel Tank Lock etc.
