I'm kind of new to this site although I found it years ago after I found my first RD350.
Right now I have two 73's, but both are in sad cosmetic shape. One is only a motor with expansion chambers - no lights or mirrors or anything - just scary as hell.
The other is complete but I have it running on some generic coils I mounted to the frame and still using points and the seat is torn - planning on installing rdd kit.
I've got a bunch of work to do, so I'm glad to have found this place of RD crazed individuals.
I think these RD's are like misbehaved children; they will take your time and money, be loud, blow smoke, and possibly kill you, but still you love them.
And they will beat the crap out of other children!

Welcome aboard Ian.
The 73's were the best of the bunch in my opinion.
I hope we'll be able to help you in whatever way we can to bring both those 2T warriors back where they belong - on the road! John Rodenheiser, who runs EconomyCycle will surely be able to give you a good deal on whatever parts you may need. And he's a top guy.
Cheers.

Welcome, still you are lucky atleast you have access to all the parts, just restore them.

You have choosen the best CDi for your RD's.
Best of luck.

This is an older picture of the one running on points still. I plan to give it an electronic ignition soon. Also, as I said, cosmetics. But that doesn't bother me when I'm riding, so it will be the last thing I do.satyajitmenon wrote:Welcome aboard Ian. Definitely want to see pics of your 73s

I rebuilt the caliper and put on a master. Just in case you noticed the lack of brakes.
