My dream come true.

Post by noblesix »

I grew up around two strokes like most of us here so two strokes are not new to me. The first bike in the family was my brother’s RX 100 (its been with us for 15 years and is still a daily ride) and then an RD. I have seen the transformation the bike had undergone from being just another RD to an RDD RD.

Okay, somewhere in December of last year, while talking to my brother one day, he casually mentioned that an
RDD RD is up for sale in Bangalore and such a pristine RD is very very very rare. So, I thought why not
and jumped at the offer. Met up with Mohith in the next few hours and paid him an advance. Mohith
was initially a bit skeptical selling me the bike. Guess he was not sure if I would take care of it but
thankfully I was able to convince him. And the fact that there is another RDD RD in the family must have
assured him that it will be taken care of well.

Mohith brought the bike later one evening and then I had the chance to ride it. It was just a small spin
that I had, but the experience was out of this world, better even when knowing that I would be owning
that bike. The bike was in excellent condition both cosmetically and performance wise. I could not have
got a cleaner deal.

Took the bike from him in a week’s time from then. Mohith was true to every word he said about it.
Him being a thorough gentleman, also threw in a set of pipes in great condition and a set of piston rings.

With regards to performance, it’s a pocket rocket in traffic. Power from the word go! It makes it a
pleasure to weave in and out of traffic. The first time I got to really push her was when I rode her down
to Chennai. It literally explodes every time it enters the powerband and there is such a ferociousness
that she does it with, that I am left gasping! I am still a bit new to bikes so really didn’t push her much
(embarrassed smile).

Looking forward to a rewarding experience with her and enjoying her more on long drives.

Also, a special thanks to Ron for making this happen. He put in a word with Mohith for me. Thanks man.

Great to see you here man. And even more glad that you are enjoying the bike. Just ensure you take care of her and you will have a long trouble free (is any RD trouble free ?) ride.

Great that you already started doing long trips. Those wisecos are cut out for running long and running hard! If you are running in Chennai, I would go richer on the main jet. If you need any help with setup or anything I will be back in Bangalore in Sep.

We opened up the engine to measure engine wear at around 17,000 Kms. And maybe put in new rings.
We found that the rings / pistons / bore had zero wear. The only change I could find was 1-2 Microns.
So we put it back together and its been running like that since then.

You do have a special bike. Take care off it. And if you ever sell it make sure it falls into trusted hands only.

Awesome bike. It literally explodes when you twist the throttle! One of the best RDs I have ever seen or ridden. Period.

Thanks man, glad you guys liked it. If you are running in Chennai you might want to jet it a bit richer. Especially coming from someone who already has an RDD RD it means a lot.

OT: Ethan and Noblesix are brother hooked onto the 2 stroke trip. Ethan already has a RDD RD done up Ron, that too an HT. Have fun guys, thats a nice family hobby you guys got going there.
