RD DREAM CAME TRUE!!!!

Post by sanrxz543 »

wel well its been long waiting for me to get my rd done correctly..its been around 9 months now after purchasing the bike but now its almost perfect..its a UNLSLEEVED barrel running on 3rd over pistons.as the bike was running on points the first thing i did was to get an rdd cdi..already have experienced the gains of an rdd cdi in my rx so i didnt have 2 minds..but i had to make sure that the bike first performed near to to a stock lt..when i got the bike i had problems with carburation, the head was having leaks, the clutch bell had all sorts of noise too.it took a while to get into rd rhythm as i hadnt had the opportunity to ride an rd earlier.but soon everythin fall into place..i got a mechanic who did all the work in the bike which was quite satisfactory..then came the time to install the rdd cdi..took the bike to team carbon..deepesh did all the installation and the bike worked like charm..but i couldnt enjoy the full juice of the rdd cdi coz the bike still some how had an carburation problem..the main jets were different, the economiser was just too loose so that much amount of fuel was entering into the venturi..sooner later the problems were temporarily rectified and the timing was done..the bike went into an another mood all the way...the bike was running much cooler, the engine was giving a note at all rpms.was much much happier than ever before..

after months on the way back home the cdi blew away and it was the worst day for me..truoble shooted it and the cdi ws send to ron and found that the culprit was the battery..soon the battery was replaced and lckily i got a replacement from ron..installed it and from there on no issues at all..

future mods would be to get a

1)crash guard
2)get a pair of rdd filters
3)jetting
4)moving to flatties
5)probably an lt-ht combo from rdd
i thank all the rdd members in helping me out to live my rd dreams come true..starting from RON,DEEPESH,JERRY,TEJI AND RENJITH

uploading some pics i hpe u guys enjoy..

thanks

sanjiv

Lovely looking bike. Just needs some small nylon straps to secure the wiring from the switches to the handlebar. And better shocks than the stock rear ones, which weren't that good even when new. Disc brakes too of course. One step at a time- happy riding all the way!!

thank u sid and moith..well sid im planning it to change the rear shocks..it just creates too much of back pain on long journey..as mohith has shifted to hunk shocks i hope i will be following his same route..what r the other options??..what about pulsars rtr??..

Stock trip is not my thing. But that is one clean, beautiful machine! Congrats, mate. Glad to know there are such RDs running around near Thrissur.

In my opinion for what its worth:

AVOID the pulsar shocks, they are completely useless. The best solution within the country right now is the ZMR shocks, better than the Hunk for the RD because of similarity in weight between the RD and the ZMR. Pricy at INR 18xx but worth every penny.

Don't move to flat-slides unless your present carbs are completely buggered and you can't find a good, cheap replacement. If you do go for flat-slides, make sure you get them with support because dialing in these things aren't easy. Whatever carbs you decide to go in for, compliment it with a pair of RDD filters and then dial them in.

Have fun!!

the bke is running on more advance..have to dial back to get to the optimum timing..thanks renju ..i hope u enjoyed the ride..

@prd- yeah will definely go for zmr shocks...rather was thinking for hunk shocks..

the carb is been badly butchered that i cant jet with the rdd filter..better it would be to get tms and then dial in the jetting..
