Back on the road with RDD DIGI V.

Post by tricky »

Hi Guys, Being an Rd owner, I always used to think that running on points is a better option than going for any cdi, I had many people supporting me too, including my local mechanic. I tested a bike which had an auto escort kit. It didn’t impress me though, didn’t feel like im riding a power horse. So i stuck to points for some time, all this while i knew about the RDD kit, but didn’t have much knowledge about cdi's, maybe that’s the reason i didn’t go for it. I started to use my bike less often, and never had the confidence to ride her on a long distance and in the back of my mind I somehow knew it was the ignition that’s holding her back.

With time and reading all the posts and feedbacks on the forum finally placed an order for the RDD kit, and got hold of my kit some 3 weeks back, didn’t have the time to install it sooner than last week.Leoagnel from the forum did the installation and went out of his way to get some few other loose ends fixed on my bike.

The 1st thing i noticed after the installation is the bike feels revhappy, earlier i had to forcefully squeeze every torque it might have, but now with a blip of the throttle it just shoots. In every gear the pull is extremely neat and without any hiccups. It cruses well over 100 without the engine overheating which was the case earlier. Have to get hold of some filters and upjet it as i had some porting job done and still running on stock size jets. to which ron said............ :bangin:

I urge people who don’t have the RDD kit yet, please feel the difference by riding any bike which has this kit installed or pm me, i'll be happy to give you that experience.

Thank you Ron for this amazing product, i can imagine all the hard work you must have put in to make this thing a perfect masterpiece. And thanks Leoagnel for all the support, you are the dude!!!

Will be doing some serious riding now...

Thanks for the kind words man.
The biggest problem holding back the sales of my kit. Are the uneducated Mechs who think points are best. Or those that are educated but sell what ever CDI kit they can make the most margin on is best. Be it Auto Escorts or anything else. Its actually boils down to which kit will give them the most margin.
With the RDD kit they can only charge 500-1000 for the install. If they pimp their own kit the margin is more like 5K.

But we seem to be breaking free from that trap. Thanks to guys like Leo and our RDD community.
We now have fellow RD Owners now steeping up to help other RD owners.

I shudder to think. What would have happened to your install if Leo had not helped out.
The guy who you where thinking of using to help you install the kit. Has openly said the RDD kit is crap. And not even worth a bottle of oil.
You must have some good Karma from somewhere that you found Leo to help you.

And yes to port an engine and then run 140 mains and 25 pilots does deserve a :crucified:
Get your jetting sorted ASAP. Or you will damage your engine.

Also nice to see that with no other changes. i.e. even without changing your jets. The bike is making more power and running cooler.
SO just imagine what will happen once you sort out your jeting.

Your now starting to sample what a real RD is all about. After owning one for so many years.

You guys need to meet up with RDD Grand Daddy off Bombay India chief and check out his RDD Builds.
You want to organize something just call Chief.
Though he did promise me he would try and make it to Bangy for Christmas.
