Hi,

This is Appu, born in Bangalore & grew up in Mysore. On the run for past 5 yrs, been in 5 different places in UK & US.

Grew up with my dad's Bajaj Chetak from 80's & finally got myself a couple of RX (had to get the second one after some f***er stole my 5-speed ).

I am a kind of guy who calls u on Friday afternoon in Blore, pickup the bikes, hit the road & wake up in Kerala or Goa next morning. Spent a lot of time on long trips. Mainly in the forests of western ghats. Don't have that kind of crowd here, so Started doing some track days on 4-joke (Yamaha R1) now.

Life Style / Interests - Show me any adventure I'll jump into it. Psychedelic Songs (Pink Floyd, Doors, Shishunala Sharif), Scotch, Red Wine, Girl Friends ...

I work as a Software freelancer to support my Life Style & Interests.

Some of you in B'lore know Varun (voodoo_child). I am the Big Bro for that kid.

If anyone's doing track days in US let me know. Otherwise i'll meet up sometime when I am back home.

secondly.. tennessee has got to be one of the best places to tour in the US.
I mean you got the dragon right by you.. a LOT of other nice roads from what I've seen. Try living in michigan.. even if its not snowing.. the roads are still "straight as a ramrod"

I need to move down south ASAP man.. shit..

I am on the far end of Tennessee so Dragon is still 7 hrs for me & i still haven't done it on my bike. I am sure ur Monster is lot more fun then my R1 for the Dragon.
Detroit - I might come there later this month to catch up with some frnds.

You don't have to move south. But I know exactly what u mean I live in Albany,NY, Chicago & Columbus, IN for 3 yrs. I know at least 2 good tracks right next to u Gingerman (www.gingermanraceway.com) & Grattan (www.grattanraceway.com) both r in my list for this year.

I just started doing track days a year ago and done 3 so far. Hoping to get another 6-8 track days this year. I've been twice to Jennings, FL (www.jennings.com) & once to Patnam, IN (www.putnampark.com).
I think next one will be in Barber, AL (www.barbermotorsports.com) on Mar 13, 14.

I know I travel quite far for the track days. May not make sense to someone in Florida. But I've lived up north all these years. When u have one of these crouch rockets parked in your garage all winter & all u get to do is, staring at it every day, freezing ur balls at 20 below zero, while u hibernate for six months a year. You know what, all of a sudden Driving ur truck 15 - 20 hours to hit a track is not too far anymore !!!

Jennings is a great Motorcycle only track. So all the corners r designed for motorcycles & u don’t have any cage (cars) tearing the track. U have to go there if u still haven’t been there.

Nonetheless, welcome to RDD Appu. Not many indians I know would travel to the western hemisphere and spend so much time, money and effort to tour, race and travel. Hats off to you for doing your thing! Keep us posted on your adventures and when you can, a write up with a few pictures would be very nice.
