Introduction.

Post by chinoy »

We are a social group here.
Lurkers are not welcome and from time to time will have their IPs or IDs removed.

It is considered good maners to post at least a small introductry note about yourself here. WHat your intrests are. What you do. What bikes you use.

If your new to online comunites. Its considered very rude to just lurk arround. As people see your ID the minute you sign up. Everybody can see which forum you are in what posts your reading.

Its like walking into somebodys house. Walking past the host. Taking a stroll thru his house and walking out. Without ever opening your mouth.

Either you dont enter the house or if you do you are polite and social.

You dont have to be a an expert tuner or rider to post here.
You dont even have to know how to ride a bike to post here.
The posts you make are about you and your life. Dosent have to to be about bikes or engines.

Some info about me for new members.

1. I do not deal in Bikes. Please do not send me PMs or e-mails asking me to find you a cheap RD. Or a costly RD. I dont deal in Bikes cause to deal bikes you need to be dishonest. When selling a bike you have to lie to the customer. And In India I almost feel like the customer comes looking to buy a bike with "Please lie to me and over sell this pice of shit to me" stamped on their forehead.
Sorry for the long post. But Ive already said this a dozen times yet people still send me msgs on a daily basis asking me to find them a bike.

2. If your rude or send out to many PMs. A block is put on your ID and any PMs sent to me or other members is returned with a MSG BLOCKED.

Other than that its a pleasure to have you on board.
This forum is about evolving as Biker. Its about increasing your awareness and improving your knowledge about bikes and engines.

It goes without saying that this site is funded by and run for RDD Customers. It is my customers who make this site possible.

And as long as I have them this site will run.
The day I loose all my customers it will be shut down.

Some Rules. Nothing fancy just your run of the mill standard stuff. Its amazing how some people need to be reminded.

============================================
Here are some rules.
==========================
General Forum Rules

->Personal Attacks will NOT be tolerated

->No racist, sexist, hateful, threatening, obscene, or otherwise rude remarks

->Posting is a privilege, and not your right.

->Replying to offensive/flammatory posts makes you just as guilty

->If you have nothing positive to contribute to a discussion, don't post

->Do not cross-post threads.
->The "Open Forum" forum is unmoderated. Offensive content may be found in there, read at your own risk.

->Don't be annoying, respect your fellow members. Annoying everyone is enough of a reason to get yourself banned.

->Discussion of piracy, and other illegal activities will not be tolerated.

->KEEP IT CLEAN! If you want to bitch, TAKE IT TO PM. That's what it's there for. Don't clutter up the threads! If you see anyone breaking these rules, click the "REPORT POST TO MODERATOR" button, one of the mods will take care of it. If you keep breaking these rules, you will be banned from the forums. If you're lucky, you'll get warned first.

-> This is not a democracy.

-> Do not mention the names of any Garages, Workshops, Tuners here.

->GROUP BUYS are only permitted after authorization from an admin

There is an accusation that most of RDD members are a bunch of clueless kids or so I have heard.
So it would help if when you introduced your self you posted your age / qualification and or Job designation.

I think people will take you a lot more serioully.

Something like
Name: Rohinton D Chinoy
Nick name: Ron
Age: 40
Work Exp.
2 Years in Welcome Group (Worked my way thru collage)
8 Years in Tata Steel (Computer Services Div. Intranet Group)
2 Years Thakral Computers (Country Head Service)
1 Year Jones Lang Wooton (Technical Director India Operations)
6 Months at Rugby / UK as an ERP consultant. Implementing ERP.
To date Run http://www.indiawebworks and http://www.rddreams.com

Post an intro that is honest and states your age and Exp.
I think people will take you a lot more seriously.

For Example did you know that Rags, Mukund, Myself, Satya, Anand, vijay, Guru etc are all in the 40+ age Bracket.
Most of the guys I interact with on a regular basis or as part of the RDD Community and socializing is all done with guys who are middle aged.
The only kids in the Group are Thing aka Shuvo and Teji. And Teji is already working and has a superb IT Networking Job.

So I fail to see where this Notion of clueless kids and RDD came together.
The only time I put up with a lot of clueless kids was probably in the early days with Guys Like Danny LOL
We really corrupted those poor early young members. Danny actually drooped out of IIM.
Its not to say I didnt try to help the young guys back then. We forced them to study, to get certifications and move on to better jobs.
Anyway
So now we have a policy if your a student and you want to hang with us and on RDD you better get good marks and attend collage or we dont want to see you.
Mark sheets will be checked by Mukund and Myself. No smoking nothing more than two drinks or a few beers till you get your first real job.

Hello everybody,
Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm Anindya/Awenindo/Andy. I'm a 24 year young guy working in advertising. I have spent quite a lot of time on this forum, reading up, learning, getting to know people from their comments and checking out the pictures of some awesome rides people have here.
I think that i am perhaps the only one in this forum who doesn't own a motorcycle (yet!).
The flow of the intro is all wrong, i really love music (especially in the two-stroke cacophony genre).

Its good to be here.
