I did some reading up on the old Escorts Kit.
They where hoping it would revive the bike. But in fact it turned out to be such a flop it was like a nail on the coffin.

If they had stuck to points the bike would have probally lasted a little longer.

The latest con is that this kit is now being labeled as Digital and being sold as a Digital.

I hope who ever is pulling this con knows what will happen to him when the truth comes out.
This is not a digital Kit. Its an obsolete Analogue Kit whose timing keeps moving away from TDC so it over heats and sizes engines. I hope nobody with a good build is stupid enoughf to put this on his bike.
This kind of timing was designed for the LT350 which is only designed to rev out to 5500 RPM.

110% true ron. the engine heated like hell and when it heated deto occured like the engine was gonna blast. But, I saw it all coming and I have the power of RDD now. So no worries at all.
Day 'n' Night, I toss & turn, I keep stressing my mind, I look for peace, but see I don't attain any.

Quick Update: 18.09.2012

Its been 3.5 years since I installed the kit. Me and my father always rode the bike in the city as a commuter. Trust me, in the last 3.5years I've been only filling pre-mix petrol and changing the gear box oil. Apart from that my bike goes out only for water wash. Rest of the things I always do it myself whether it would be RD or my RX. Since I installed the kit, there have been many improvements on the bike apart from the ignition aspect. I've upgraded to PB Swing arm bushes, which again were home made. After Chinoy Filter's the stock filter box was useless. I did a nice battery box out of SS Sheet metal. In the that box I made a provision for the CDI too with the help of a rubber cushion. I changed the rear brake pedal too. Fabricated it from scratch. Had posted photos here. Nuff' said.

Last month I had a chance to take it out for a long ride. Reason was my friend shifting to Pune for job. So we had three bikes, My RD, friends ZMA, and a Unicorn. and more 2 RD's waiting for us in Pune. We reached Pune on Saturday. Next day was our ride to Amby. 5 bikes in total. 3RD's including mine, all with the RDD Goodies. We had an awesome run. I was redlining my RD most of the time. To and fro we did around 250kms almost without any breaks. We'd stop only if one us got left behind. My bike was running, running and running. With no problems what so ever. After I returned home. I did some numbers. 750kms of total trip and I got fuel efficiency of 21.6kmpl. My speed was below 40-50 only withing the city. Rest of the time, I was redlining. Man, that was madness for sure.

All in all. 3.5years and my RD is still running strong. All thanks to Ron baba! Things will be more awesome in coming days. Sometimes I just wonder after reading posts here, peeps blowing there CDI's and then cursing all the over the place.

I hope to update this space as I continue to clock more kms on my RD. :)
