Semicircular clips no.

Woodruff key, its a small piece of metal, here is a pic http://www2.gpmd.com/image/o/osmg9360.jpg

Make sure that is in place, and the magnet is secure properly.
There is no hope left when you start declutching an RD.

If its a RX100 you have a smaller piston hence flame path travel is less.
Hence you may not be able to run as much advance i.e. 4 deg as the RXG boys run. The RXG boys have larger combustion chambers and can handle more advance.
ron how much has to be advanced for rx100, my bike is running at 4 deg :)

4 Deg is optimum if your motor can handle it.
It also depends on state of tune, amount of carbon in the head, ring seal and many other factors.
My warning is just so that some RX100 kid doesn't hear that Mr Y or Mr X is running 30 Deg on his RXG. He then tries it and blows up his motor. 4 Deg is the Idiot Proof Mode. With 4 deg you cant blow up your motor. You will make more power than stock and will get better milege than a stock CDI.

sorry for the late reply..

The very next day i have drilled holes as shown in the pic.. (4 degree advanced ) and tried out the bike. To be true that wasnt pleasing so planning to go back to normal stock possition but teji asked me to consult someone who has installed so many cdi's .. one from cochin to see if something i have done wrong.

as of now.. the bike is having good pick up till third gear..ie on third it comes to 60 plus easily and smoothly but from there fourth wont even pull 5 to 10 kmph more.it takes ages to reach 70 to 80. am sure this is not anything with cdi but may be my carb tuning or my head i have see whats the condition inside.
more over i have noticed this too.. now bike has starting trouble and its like (funny but true) starting a deisel genny.. we have to kick and wait ..sometimes it starts up like a boat:) ..and sometimes nice REACTION .. got return strike of kick lever few times .

anyways planning to take it Jerry and see whats the matter :)

The return strike is bcoz of advanced timing, there might not be enough voltage bieng fed for the cdi, check your battery change the distilled water and recharge it if needed.

Trouble starting, silky smooth engine with no power all signs off firing too close to TDC.
You need to rotate your plate clock wise.

Set the timing to 24 deg.
Clean the carbs and go rich on the needle postion and air screw.

It should show marked improvement.

Make sure bat is in working condition. Bike will not run without a working bat. (It will run with no bat on a race setup but such a setup is outside you scope of understanding).

If your not happy with it return it for a full refund.

Zailer ... If you are based out of Cochin and having trouble send me a PM... will tell you where you can get the RDD CDI Installed and set right. I had my RDD CDI installed in cochin for my old RX 135( now sold ) two years ago without any hassles.
