the magical curve 2

Post by madmaxarjun »

i dont know how many people actually use this option .. but this is it ...
the white rd got a high exp port ...chambers which are supposed to hit ard 8k ...once i got the bike running & after the run in (almost) started to rip her .. but i had virtually nothing between 2-5k.. & even in the band the power was nowhere near my estimation .. after long hours put into the dialing in the jetting & timing i had started do accept that no matter what i cannot get the results i wanted ...the full advance at the low revs used to solve the prob but a spoiler at the band ...a retard timing would make scooties take me out at low revs ....so just before i was gonna throw the pipes & lift the barrels,, i tried the curve 2...... ..................................one ride & i dont remember carrying a smile like that ever since i got this bike .....those few seconds ..i wish i had better writing skills to put it down...i used to feel that nothing could be better than the LTs pull at low revs..but this is just surreal..... the band now starts at 3.5k first kick at 5.5k and another one at ard 8k ..& still i have little ovverrev which i feel can now be improved with jetting ...

i feel people ,other tuners with a ported & chambered motors are just wasting thier time, resources if they run static ..... they have no idea what curve 2 can do for them .....thanks again to rdd.....

Thanks.
I wish had better writing skills too.
But to sum it up short and sweet. RDD has done pretty much every combination under the sun. Be it pipes or porting.
And it is the understanding & knowledge we gained from building all these motors that have given us a huge huge data bank of information.
Backed up with info from the sims, mated to real world testing.

This has given me insights into the nature of the two stroke and its working that has taken close to a decade to develop.
ALl that knowledge has gone into the curve development process.
So now you know why I do not share the curves.

To cut a long story short. There are only two possible kinds of curves that a two stroke needs. Mate this to the infinite variations you can get by shifting your max advance for each curve and you have a curve which is nothing short of being magical. Curve 1 is suited to mildly tuned motors. And Curve 2 is suited to all out builds. i.e. chambers, high compression heads, higher ex. port durations. The quality of gas you run determines your max advance point.

Yes those still stuck on the static trip have no idea what they are missing out on.
Then again as you must have figured. The knowledge level required to fully utilize and exploit the RDD cdi is a little beyond the scope of your average uneducated backyard hack.
But as more and more educated tuners crop up in India the impact of what RDD products can achieve will start to stand out.

Those who have adopted RDD tech into their builds earlier have only proved they are smarter and ahead of the curve.

Nope. If you have just one box, I strongly recommend that you get the digi-III and start using it, and keep the digi-II as a backup.

ok the run is complete .. revs upto 10k easy........without missing a beat!!.... another thing about paper conical filters ......they are seriously shitty for serious 2 strokes... they choke up easy ...... now with the Chinoy Filter`s am running 1.4mm main jets....
