I GOT THE POWER !!!!

Post by rahulsharma_7 »

Finally i am able to enjoy the magic of Ron's CDI.
I am ecstatic to say the least right now.

Its been weeks since i was trying to setup the bike, and somehow or the other it was not working. I always knew its the connections of the bike which are making a nuisance but was not able to pick the point which actually was making all the mess.

The bike use to run but then use to just die out after some time, tried setting the timing but still it was not working.

Anyways today luck shined on me and the bike is setup to some extent to run as it should with the CDI.

Firstly i would really want to thank Shuvo (mautbiker) for all his help, i have bothered him constantly like day in day out literally. But the guy is too nice and genuine to help and is always ready to jump up to solve the issues.
I wish he gets all the powerfull bikes he ever desired in his life :D

Next i would like to thank Tejinder (torq3e) for helping me with the bike when he was in delhi. Another great guy and very helpfull to say the least. Wish you get all the porn you ever wanted to watch or acquire :P .

I owe you both a treat man.

And finally thanks to Ron for letting me use the CDI(RXG), i knew i was missing the most important thing for the bike and finally i had it. Kudos to you for working on a great product and helping bikers of this country to enjoy real power from their bikes.

Currently the bike is running on jet size 180, stock chambers (Rx100), stock filters,RDD CDI.
I still have to check the exact timing on the bike, but i am assuming its running somewhere on 24-25.
The bike runs clean with smooth power delivery, the acceleration is great and one can just blip the throttle and it jumps to go.
I am sure with the working on timing a bit more i would be able to get more power out of it.

For the time being i have connected the CDI (long brown wire) with the battery directly. The bikes power delivery is not the same when i connect it with the flasher, its much peppier with a direct connection I hope there wont be any issues with this. I would anyways be getting the wiring checked throughout to know where is the missing link with it.

Today for the first time i have experienced the power of the bike in true sense and it makes me feel good to the core.
It should not haven taken soo much time but sometimes somethings just happen when they want to, no matter what we do. We use to get stuck on stupid issues and the bike wont work. Anyways thats another story.

Thanks Ron once again for letting me use the CDI.

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Man, glad to know that you've fixed it up now. Just get it setup properly and then you'll know what pure riding pleasure is. Especially true when you rev it past 7000 RPM and the bike is still happy to pull along without puffing & panting & ranting and the best part is that the bike is amazingly SMOOOOOTH at such high RPMs. It just can't be described in words.Enjoy the divine product.

P.S.: I'd like to suggest that you order for the Chinoy filter & a matching jet from Ron right away. As Ron says, the CDI+Chinoy filter is all that MOST regular bikers would need for their RXs.

This is typical.
First they cant set the timing.
When the timing is set. And the gains show. They think more gains are to be had.

While Im happy you got it started and I thank you for your kind words. You understand how frustrating it is for me. To try and market in the Indian Market.

Ron thats the beauty of the product i must say.. more is never enough :D
I always had the faith in your product, and this was one of the reasons i wanted to set it up correctly from my end and then call or approach you.
I certainly understood that digital things either work or dont, so anyday CDI was working.
I knew its somewhere in the bikes which is wrong and is the culprit.
Worked on all timing patterns earlier from 19 - 26, it worked great but eventually the bike use to cutoff.. Checked the connections soo many times but then again the CDI worked brilliantly but the bike use to cutoff at times.
Thanks once again.

@Gunni i have already placed the order for the filters, just wating for them to be at my place.

If the bike cuts off after running for a short duration, check for pinched (exposed) wires behind the base plate.

Trouble shooting

Chief,
Nail on the head , First basic lesson learnt was check all the wires , double check even if they look good externally.sometimes things which cannot be visually seen , are the culprit.

Some updates on the bike..

Using the bike since last week regulary from Delhi - Noida and vice versa.

The bike is very reliable in terms of power delivery.

Its raring to go even if one has revved the ***s off the throttle.

No heating issues, and one can glide with it or storm the bike wrt to revving the power of the engine.

And this isnt any fancy bike to say the least.. runs on stock filters, stock reeds, stock pipes, stock 4 speed gearing and sprokets. (this was a 100-135 conversion).

Just the carbs have been changes to 135 from 100.

I can imagine what it would have been if it would be properly ported and chambered by Ron.

Things which the bike needs now.

Ron filters -- i have them and need to add them shortly.

5th cog - for a better gearing on longer riders, the bike asks for another gear. Have in stock and will be adding soon.

Reeds - will need to move onto something better than stock.

Disc brakes - one of the most important things in Delhi traffic. I wont say the bike is super fast but the power delivery is electric.

Switch to Motul at the earliest.

Thanks Ron for making me connect to bike like never before.

Cheers.
Thanks Ron once again...

Well glad you've started to enjoy the bike.

Now get out there and help Shuvo and Teji sell as many units as possible.
Ps: If you connect the CDI directly to the battery it will drain the battery at .400 mili amps.
