sweet dreams come true

Post by madmaxarjun »

landed in doon on the 9th .... the very next day got a hurried call from a very close friend...by the evening i had another 85 ht non sleeved good condition for 40k......the next day serviced the bike fiddled with the points, cleaned carbs, put new cables etc....rode the bike ard with a broad grin.....
the very next day opened up the magic box ( rdd cdi kit ) ..bought a new rxg wiring harness, swithcluster, ignition switch, holders etc....it took exactly 40 mins to install the complete kit( including even making mountings for the rr, cdi flasher etc.....engine started on the first kick.. timed the bike to accurately.. done .... with installation.. all in 40 mins.. no issues

pulled the bike out slotted into first...n whao..... the midrage suddenly appeared which was never present before.. shifted briefly into 2 and then into third... got caught into traffic.....wacked the throttle open again ....she pulled cleanly again with the same surge from 2k rpm..... rode her about an hour ...and for the first time she was not overheating as on previous days... apart from all this she revs up another 1.5k rpms.........

i seriously fell this product makes the rd as nibble as a modern 4 stroke motor but at the same time retaining its charm..& characteristic power band.....
all in all a wonderful product, a must have for every rd owner.. i wish i had enough funds for keeping my other rd..& get her a life.. .. but will have to get rid off her

:(

waiting for the filters eagerly...... for people in dehradun who want help with the installation can get in touch with alam at himalayan motorcycles..

Thanks man.
As each new customer sees the power of the little black box and the RDD CDI Kit.
It puts into perspective those that make claims that there is something better out there. Or that the RDD CDI kit doesnt work.
To those on the older versions Each revision is a revaluation try and experience it.

Arjun, even I did the installation myself and my experience is'nt any different than yours. I am mighty happy now. Just curious to know, how many degrees BTDC you found the sweet spot. I have set the timing on my LT at 23.5 Deg , Running fine, But haven't tested it extensively. I know our timing will not be exact match since no two engines are same in perspective. I need to fine tune the timing. Secondly, to rotate the coil to change the timings, do u simply loosen the 3 bolts and turn the plate or remove the whole magnet drum first ? Will b grateful for ur reply.
