Thanks for all the faith and suport.
This is what Ive been saying all along. Spend the money once. Spend it right and forget about ever needing to touch the bike.
Needless to say your one of the very early CDI customers and your bike has been runing flawlessly.

As always in all these success stories the care and IQ of the customer also plays a big role.
They know how to ride and take care of their bikes.

Shit that mileage is better than my Kine.
Im sure if you really wanted mileage we could get it past 25. We would need to dial back on the jets and bump up the timing a bit. Say 230 mains, 30 pilots and 2 degrees advance on the timing.

You would also need to drive a little more carefully. But Malu and driving sanely don't go together.

Excellent Mohith!
My experience hasnt been different from yours at all. Mainly city riding and occasional rips on the ECR :D. Those who have ridden on ECR know what it is to rip on a road like that :D
Have never had an issue since I picked the bike up from the dungeon. Very similar carb and bike settings...although Ron would about porting differences better. Not that I 'want' mileage but I have consistently got 16-17 in the city.....but I guess I am more of a granny rider :D

Sorry to hijack your post CrazyD but I had to share my feelings. Ok, that sentence didnt sound right, but nevertheless.

Ron, I am going to bring my bike to dungeon soon for a general check-up man. Been quite a while since you checked it.

Nice to see another strong RDD build, talks in tons about the RDD quality and dedication to perfection!

So basically you are wasting a lot of gas in city riding. i.e. you need to be more carefully.

My best metod when wanting to save gas was to ride at the start of the power band and ride in the highest gear possible.
i.e. get to 6th gear as fast as possible and keep it there. This compared to loco driving would give a diffirence off arround 10 Km to the LTR i.e. 18 on heavy riping and 28 if driven carefully.
Many RD riders have perfected this to an art form.

Have fun crazyD. Even I've seen absurdly high fuel efficiencies at times. 31kmpl once 2 years ago and 20kmpl just recently. Not to mention its no LT with stock filter, a ported HT with UNIpods. RDD setups are rough on the chain n sprockets though ;)
@nitesh : leave it man.

Faith and loyalty have their rewards.
Just enjoy
Screw the rest.
If you want to mind freak the rest.
Just put the bike on the dyno.

This bike is now a really different beast. Rode it just before the timing exercise and soon after. Anytime you want to aim for the speed club I am willing to help in the wrenching dept.

Mohit Anand wants a ride on it.
Menon wants a ride on it.

Other than these two guys be very carefull about who you let ride the bike.

This reminds of Dannys bike.
Zlod baba went powerful RD uh. (Like Ive see it all tone). He gets on the bike and guns it. Wheel is in the air and he is heading straight for the electric pole. Missed crashing by a whisker.

So be carefull about who you let on the bike.

Speedz. No wrenching involved. All he needs is a sprocket.

Now that reminds me of Dork getting a ride on my bike  He kept murmuring something like "dude you own two different bikes, one perfectly tractable LT below 5000 rpm and another wild bitch above 5000"...

I just got back from a 7-day trip to Surat, via Bombay. Whoever said chambered RDs are not suitable for touring should probably queue up outside Ron's door. Apart from a broken tachometer mount (due to a horrible road section near thane) the bike ran flawlessly. Will make a separate post about this.

Congratulations CrazyD. To modify the old saying a bit, "An RDD build is a beauty forever".

So you used the RD then. Crazy fluck man.

Mohit man talk is cheap in this line. We need to dyno the bike.
Make sure they do a proper pull. And dont let the rear jump. That robs 5-10 BHP.

An update on the bike, its been quite some while that I have ignored her, and putting all the goodies on the car. I was ready to change the rings and bearings but was waiting for my front end to arrive. Front end arrives on Monday and took the topend off and bring it to Ron for changin the rings. Now the bike has done 14000kms (8700miles) but when we measured the new rings wont even fit in! What did we find near to zero wear. 10 Microns on the pistons. 5 microns on the rings. No wear on the rods. The rods did not even have more play than stock. Thats it. Put it all back and she is ready to do another 14,000 Kms before even a ring change!

Ofcourse the bike runs only on Motul 800 but this is for a bike which makes more power than most street RDs/two strokes, with an insane 11k redline. I am a nut when it comes to riding the bike, I sometimes cane it right from the word go.

The bike is also getting some much needed brakes. Will soon post a pic/feedback.

We have all seen how you warm up the bike [-X
A little more care and she will last you longer.

Mohit is being modest.
His build has been labeled as one of the most powerful RDs in India.
By none other than his Highness Papae. Who has been on quite a few fast bikes.
