Today went over to Ron with my CDI Balck Box, RR Unit & Plug caps (activa) for a check up. The method adopted was that v pluged in the parts onto sarfraz's bike (running the same digi III cdi) one by one and took a trial run to see if the bike displayed the symptoms tht we face on my bike.
After every test ride and alos ammiter tests for the battery charge etc the bike ran fine w/o misbehaving or dying out!
This has left me with no other option but to bring my bike down here n check out other loopholes that maybe causing the problem. (carbs, wiring etc)
Thanks a lot Ron 1c again for you patinece and time in dealing with us..Your Digi CDI is a gem of a product and I only want to get to the best out of this setup on my bike!

No issues. Thanks for clearing that up.
Hopefully sales will go back up again lol
I have total faith in my Product.
When things go wrong on the bike most people like to Blame the CDI its very rarely the culprit.
Chk the other engine stuff i.e. Carbs, Wiring harness, reeds and engine compression and fuel flow.

very true Ron, the mech back home who did the debugg finally put the blame on the CDI and convinced my bro that it was the CDI that was faulty! I had my doubts right from the start that this was'nt the case coz i remembered riding the bike back frm ur place post the install wit the direct connection for the ignition. All the probs started only after the wiring was completed...Anywayz 1c the bike is down here would need ur help/time to run thru the debugg step by step. N this time m gonna do it all myself, not trusting any grease monkey!!!

yeah they are dangerous man.
We blew an engine this track day cause the guy installed two lock pins on one side.
Pin moved and took out the liner.
This is what I have been saying from day one.
We have to learn to do our own wrenching or sell our two strokes and buy a 15 BHP four stroke.

RE: Re: RE: Really Frustrated...(Life before the RDD Digi CD
though i dont have a RDD kit with me yet , my following advice may help ,i hope..
1. disconnect ur battery from the wiring loom and have it hooked to the cdi directly. see how it runs.
2. with battery connected to RR unit only and rest other supplies disconnected, check the voltage with engine off (should b close to 12V) and with engine running at abt 3500 rpm ( should b abt 13 to 14.5 V). if it does ur RR unit is fine.
3. u may have to use a batt 5AH or more. the juice produced by the powerful charging coil needs to be utilised else it may harm the RR unit.
4. on the day when ur bike refuses to fire up ,check voltage across the bat terminal. if it reads less than 12 V , may indicate that ur battery is draining due to short circuit.
5. since the CDI is sensitive to EM interferernce , i plan to cover the CDI cables to HT coils with braided metal shield, when i recv one. the HT coil itself is a major source of EMF.

RE: Re: RE: Really Frustrated...(Life before the RDD Digi CD
a. Is your battrey getting charged ?
b. What is the Amp rating of the battrey ?
c. What is the Amp draw of the horns.
The CDI has been known to run on 1" 9 volt radio battrey its known to run with no battery directly off the lighting coil on race / drag bikes.
If the bike is shutting off it can be only one of two reasons
a. Power to the CPU is droping below 9 volts
b. EMF i.e. run aptiva plug caps nothing more is required to isolate the EMI.
Ps: We had one case like this in the UK many years ago turned out the horn was the culprit it was basically shorting out the power totally. And causing a lot of EMI.

That would be against the law.
Unless you directly write to them they can not use the material. As RDD is not a public forum it is a privately owned forum.
Are you by any chance wiring the CDI directly to the battery i?
That would be wrong. It has to be wired to a switched 12 Volt supply as per the install documents and like I told you twice. No direct connection. A point bike with the Ign left on will kill the battery in 1 day.
A CDI bike will kill the battery over a longer period but it will. The CDI draws .4 Mili amps when on. If installed right there should be no issues.
Also Like I told you the large horns may kill the battery. Are you by any chance using Car / Buss Horns if so you Horns need a bigger battery.
For your horns not the cdi.
Did you ask the guy selling them to you if they would work on a bike with a 12 5ah bat. Volt battery ?
Lastlly look for a short.
Use a cheap Multimeter they can be purchased for Rs 100/-
