Hello From frozen Minnesota

Post by duluthmuffler »

Hello RDD community.

I ride a 77 Yamaha XS650 which is a four stroke parallel twin.
I'm here mostly because I'm interested in the magneto CDI set-up that is on all these crazy quick RD's.

I'd like to build a vintage racer. Maybe an RD maybe my XS....
Anyway its good to be here.

howdy . i am visiting wisco right now. freaking cold -35 F . go to the xs sites. i did a 850 kit on one a couple years back and used a dynna after market iggy off a kz 650 with a little mods to work(got rid of the points no other gains). the chinoy would get you great lighting but the curves would be useless to your application. hit ecconomycycles web site they have a programable if your that advanced( punn intended) in tuning . i am not. but it might be something if you are looking for a race application.

sven if one of the xs650 boys where to confirm my kit goes onto thir bikes I would do a custom curve for them,
In fact unless the xs650 revs past 7000 RPM they have a perfect 4 stroke curve on the rdd box anyway.

Wiseco ?
Im looking for 58mm four stroke wiseo pistons let me know if you can find any.

I assume Sven meant Wisconsin, Ron.
It's our neighbor to the East, the land of beer and cheese.
I confirm the F-ing COLD it was -30 to -40 F today with the wind and I was working outside today
Welcome to the forum Duluthmuffler. If Ron can make a kit for you TAKE IT! I haven't posted a feed back yet but I just got mine and it looks great.
Have you checked craigs list? There is a 77 RD/RZ/R5/TZ that posted a week ago in Owattano. It's a rat racer but it might be a worth a thought.

By the way my folks live up near Betty's Pie's I hear Hwy 1 is a nice ride.

You boys need a retreat for the winter.
Its getting so warm here I was sweating while working on the bike.
Time to move a fan into the garage. You guys need to look into bargin tickets to Inida.
And come down here. I ca shack up a few guys. For a few weeks.
