Anyway, better late than never, right?
Ok! I’m zahin Aranha from Mangalore. Been a lurker here for years but now I finally thought it was time to post an intro.
i was born in jamshedpur (dad was in the army n was posted there) but I grew up in Mangalore.
My love for bikes started at a young age and the first bike I rode was my cousins RD at the age of 13. Boy was that fun! After that I had to give up my passion for bikes til I was 18 and got my license. Since then I had gone through a number of bikes ranging from bullets to karizmas to cbr’s but my love for the rd never died..
In November of 07 I met Mohith (crazydiablo) and rajan when they had come down to Mangalore for some work. While chatting with mohith, he told me about his RD n the mods done on it. That’s when I made up my mind to finally kick start my search for an rd again..
A month down the line, I got in touch with rowdy rai from the forums. Discussed stuff with him and 2weeks later I was the proud owner of a 85HT with a RDD digi CDI, Chinoy Filter’s etc etc.. Throughout this time mohith gave me advice, cleared all my queries and helped me a lot for which I shall always be great full! And the best thing is he is still tolerating me in spite of all my silly queries! He has been a real blessing in disguise to me!
Now back to my bike. When I got her, she was pissing oil n fuel like noones business..lol.. So I changed all the seals n packing that were worn. Opened the carb n cleaned out all the muck from them and fixed em back. Took her for a spin and realized how badly the jets were clogged in the begining.
Ive ridden many RD’s in the past and ive never experienced such a rush on an rd before. i attribute it completely to the rdd digi cdi. I cant put my feelings into words actually!
Right now the bike is running well but i don’t have much confidence in the crank. i have a feeling it’ll give up its spirit soon! Anyway, when it does, ill worry about it. Was gonna paint and chrome it since its cosmetically rotten but crzyD told me to save up for the engine rebuild and thats exactly what im gonna do.. so ron, im sure ur gonna hear from me real soon!
Well, I guess that’s enough.. as you can see, im terribly lousy at writing or even putting my thoughts into words.
Finally, a big thank u to ron for developing the digi cdi and also starting this wonderful site where fellow rd enthusiasts can come n share their experiences n technical knowledge. I have learnt so much from just reading up on the forums. Im really glad to be a part of the rdd brotherhood!
Thanks mohith for helping me wit all the technical stuff n probs relating to my bike.
Oh I almost forgot, thanks abhishek(reaper) for helping me out with the parts that my bike needed so badly and also finding out about the papers!
