cheers rd dudes!

Post by timeape »

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I have been using this forum ever since I bought the Chinoy CDI 3 a while ago. I never noticed this spot to say what's up. I live in Santa Cruz, California. I own and run a bicycle repair shop. I have a 77 rd 400 that I bought cheap about 4 years ago. The bike had all kinds of problems including blown motor when I got it. I have been gradually fixing everything. When I was a kid, the older kids used to rip around on rd350s and rd400s. They were legendary. I always wanted to do the same. Now that I have one I am determined to bring it up to that raging level. It has been a bit frustrating as my bike still does not rip like I know it should. I now have a rebuilt motor with new pistons and rings, Chinoy CDI3 ignition, dg pipes, Boyesen reeds(soon to change to TDR reeds), Y-boot intake with K&N filter(soon to change to Chinoy Filter pods), rebuilt Mikuni 28mm carbs with 25 pilots, 190 main jets, middle clip position on needle, NGK R type caps, NGK BPR8ES plugs, autolube injection with synth oil, new clutch. Hopefully one of these days it will be as fast as it should. Later-Timeape

For people in Hyderabad,

Here is the price I had to pay for the stuff for my RD's engine Rebuild.

1) Connecting rods size 2 -- Rs 900/
2) Engine bearings (2 NSK -2 NTN ) RS 670/-
3) TKR pistons ( 2 nos with rings ) Rs 2800/-
4) Lathe machine charges (for connecting and bearing installation) Rs 1600/-
5) Gear shifter and gear connector rod RS 400 /-
6) Engine oils seals and packing Rs 400 /-
7) Mech charges Rs 1000/-

This is just the price for stuff listed above I will update as and when I get more stuff, estimated rebuild cost 10,000/-

Any please lemme know if these are the same for you in your city

Cheers
Hasan

Octane_fx, pls start another topic if you want to discuss prices or your build on the appropriate section, this is "new member section, and its someone else introduction post.
The advice to ‘be yourself’ is obviously nonsense.
But our brains accept this tripe as wisdom, because it is more comfortable
to believe that we have a strategy for life than to believe we have no idea how to behave.
