Hi im Atul, From mumbai
been passionate about computers all my life..never really looked onto the two wheeled side of life till my father gave me his RXG...
Instant love at first sight [u know the story...]
Call it betrayal or hunger for classics, fell in love with the Yamaha RD350 in 12th..The crush continues until i reached engineering college.
3 guys come to engineering college everyday on RDs...Crush goes bad..A 60 percenter 3rd year I.T student that i was, shamelessly didnt attend my papers with a view to get a drop and start earning for the RD of my dreams..
The geek that i was, my dad never believed i failed on merit, and threw me outta the house...never went back home till today...
past 3yrs of my life, worked as a waiter for smokin joes, moped dishes and floor at Mc donalds, worked in bpo industry..in short slogged my ass off to get what i wanted..
Today, im a proud owner of a 1983 HT...guess all that ass sloggin and never looking back paid off somehow...Life taught valuable lessons, got off from my geeky bookwormish image...got a new lease of life you could say..
Planning on getting back to engineering..Gotta make my parents happy coz all i did this time was be selfish and run behind what i wanted...
I think all of us shud get asskicked by life some day..we value things not when they are with us not when we have it, but when its gone..thats all i've learnt....u gotta sleep a day on the footpath to feel the security of knowing what home truly means....I've learnt my lesson fortuantely, and I've caught my dream in the process too..
So here i am, Im not a pro biker, nor a champ at the track...im willing to take gaalis, but i wanna learn no matter what...i may not promise the sky but whatever i say i'll do as a friend, i will
I hope i'll be of some help, and not just be a pile on "mere baap ne yamaha leke diya hai" types...
I adore what RDD has carved out: from a single forum website to one of the biggest technical forums of all time...i respect everybody's passion for their bikes here, and the courage and will to keep RD's alive.
I hence say hello to everybody and wish all of us the best in times to come!
Cheers
PS: sorry for the long boring post..cant help it when emotions flow in!
