Hi, I just bought a '77 RD400 off E-bay. Picked it up a week ago now. It's the first 2 stroke I've had in a lot of years. I've been riding new bikes for the last few years and thought a project might be fun.

The RD has had the engine rebuilt, breaks rebuilt, suspension redone and the frame and wheels redone. It needs a lot of cosmetic work and details redone but mechanically it seems sound.

Biggest problem I've run into so far is that the 30 year old electrical system is in need of serious help. It has a Newtronics system on it but that does not seem to be working. It skips a lot and that is even intermittent. One cylinder will run fine and the other will not run or will skip and then they will reverse. The one that was running fine will skip. Been pretty frustrating so far. The lights don't work and all of the switch gear is junk and has been spliced around by the previous owner.

That's basically how I found my way here. Seems your CDI system would fix 90% of my electrical problems. Was wondering how I go about getting a price and/or ordering one?

I'll try and get a picture posted shortly.

Thanks
