First RD with RDD CDI in Hyderabad and it rocks

Post by gravityman »

Here is the back ground.
I finished building the bike but the only thing pending was a rebore job and CDI.

I tried installing the digital CDI on the bike but couldnt. I never used a dial guage in my life and never seen one. So i was expecting tht the timing will go all wrong and it did. the bike will rev and then die.

So i called up Ravi in pune and he said he is coming down to hyderabad and will help me then. So for the time being i fixed the analouge CDI plus the Chinoy Filter filters.

As for the barrels i was still running the old sleeved barrels with lot of piston slap.

Took the bike for one of the hyd Rd meets and the bike didnt go past 90-100 kmph

So last weekend i was able to get the RDD digi CDI installed by Ravi.
Removed one of the front disc brakes.
Got new tyres.

The bike was easily doing 110-120kmph and the vibrations have come down like crazy.

I was actually able to keep up with Ankur's bike on the highway :-)

Previously the bike will vibrate so much that i would get a complete body massage for free ;-). Now it has come down by atleast 50%.

Didnt check the milage yet but i am sure it will go up as well.

Next things in line is

1.Get a good set of pistons and get my US spec barrels rebored. [ Need some help here] I am not able to locate good set from last 6 months.

2. Get a good seat.

Then i am set to show what a bike with RDD CDI + UNIs + us spec barrels can do.

Thanks for a great product Ron and i am proud to be first one to have a RDD CDI bike in Hyderabad.

Your bike was doing more than that with your old sleeved barrels dude.
When you and Ankur over took the Esteem in a flash in which The_Trooper and myself were in, then the Esteem speedo indicated 120kmph.
