My RX170 Performance Portfolio (Dream come true at RDDreams)

Post by AllwynM »

Here is a VERY HAPPY Customer!

The Bike is just great... Thanks to RDDREAMS and Ron. Apart from just being a RD Dreams Customer - at the end of the day I still remeber the what really went into the project. Apart from just the money and great stuff on my Bike - I still owe Ron a Big THANK YOU for your sincere efforts and dedication into my project and for handling everything so personally.

Here is leaving my feedback from the previosu post to put it into the right section.

Well guys the bike is just mind blowing... its is simply really great! I am not having the right words to let you guys know the way the whole bike is right now and on how the whole project came to life at RD DREAMS. Hats off to Ron Chinoy.

During the course of the project coming to life at RD Dreams I had no idea what mind blowing motor Ron was actually targeting and making. Till I heard the motor fire to life after a first few rapid blips of the throttle in Ron's Basement - I had to first Pray.

I think I should now get into the process of writing up a performance portfolio on my RX - :)

I have still not yet had a very serious blast on my bike yet - reason being I am just getting used to my machine. The set-up on the Motor is really nice - its a serious blaster now. I am slowly getting used to my RX. It runs like mad. It is indeed making some very serious power and I ought to be quite careful.

I will try and post up as much as I can on the performance. The SIGMA BC800 is yet to be installed - so will post up on speed figures etc once I find a clean & clear abandoned air-strip or good roads to do the speed runs.

The Engine running-in is done with no probs whatsoever. Just fouled two plugs as the engine was running quite rich and the Plug used was a bit too cold (B9HS NGK / IWF27 Denso Iridium).

B8HS NGK / IWF24 Denso Iridium are ok for my application and no probs so far.

Its normal to foul a few plugs. Keeping the engine rich during run in is cheap insurance against a seizure. As long as the plug temp is not exceeding the range I gave you its ok.
As the piston wears in. (Or more importantlly as the heat decreases and the bike opens out more and more). You can go leaner on the needle. Change the needle clip one position at a time. The diffirence between my inital setup for run in. And final setup will normally be about two clip positions. There is no need to change the tyres unless you are experiencing wheel spin. Thats the only reason to change the rubbers or if the bike is unstable at high speed which its not. Because everything is new.

I put in one of those regular 8s for vigneshes bike. Try and send me some close up pics of the plugs. I want to see how the jeting and timing is.
Put the fouled plug on the gas. It will burn off the extra oil and the plug should become useable again. Keep the 9 for once the bike is run in and you start doing some hard blasting.
For top speed. Experiment with sprockets. You need to increase the front sprocket. Or reduce the rear sprocket.

after wasting lots of money i reached the conclusion ND iriduem plug dont work on 2 t , they go bad regardless of heat range on 2t , only use NGK irediums

64mm x 50mm stroke is 161cc but with drum front brake 100cc would be still too fast for it to stop , 170cc can be , by fitting MX-DT-RT175 top end , goa so hot and humid you have to run lean ..

In case your wondering what it will take.
A job in Dubai
A fat cheque back home to buy a brand new RXG from the Show Room and have it shipped to RDD.
A blank Cheque to RDD to put in the best of everything. I think the bill came to around 40K.
Anands Track Bike Build for two engines and one chamber, one best Ignition money can buy. 400 Gram Rotor with hand held programmer 38K. (He got the Pistons).
